accessing the new forum

Postby nevadatear » Wed Feb 15, 2012 10:29 am

I am having a weird time accessing the forum and wondering if anyone else is. If I go to the old mikenchell I can link just fine by clicking on the "go to" link provided. However, if I put the exact same address into my browser, it brings up a page with tiny graphic faces that look like emoticons, and the word "tntt.com" at the top. That is all. I can only access the new forum from the old address. Is it just me? :?

may be your browser or just working out the bugs from time to time - since all this stuff is kinda new for most of us, it'll take some time as we become more familiar with it. It may be that mike is doing some mods when you logged in. I use Google chrome and an android based browser and have no problems with the new address. :D

You are not putting the exact address of http://www.tnttt.com in. You are putting in http://www.tntt.com . Only one less "t", but enough to go to the wrong website.

Dan's probably right... there's a total of 4 T's in the URL.

If you are still having a problem, post the URL that you are using here, so we can debug it.

Thanks,

Mike...

Thanks Dan and Mike, you are exactly right. My eyes just could not see that other t. With three of them together I could only see two no matter how hard I looked. duh! 1 :?

I remember the address by thinking of Dynamite(TNT) Tiny Trailers (TT)= http://www.tnttt.com.

That also makes it easier to explain to strangers, etc. who want to find the forum.

However, I noticed that, unless I am logged on as a member, I can't see all the pictures. We could loose a lot of lurkers because of that. If they can't see the pictures, they may give up and not join....Either that or they will join so they can see the pictures!

My problem was that I was clicking on the bookmark on my toolbar. It points to "new posts" instead of the front page. It would keep showing an error so I figured that work was still going on. I finally decided to try the front door and it redirected me to the new web address.

I just got the original tnttt.com correct and put it in my bookmarks (favorites).... One click and no fussing with misspelling or fat fingers or whatever....
