Silver ring with wood insert.

NOT SOMETHING I MADE.

BUT FELT COMPELLED TO SHARE.

Nicola and I were down at Greenwich market a few weeks ago.

One of the stalls that really caught our eyes, partly due to the imposing stall keeper and partly what he was making, was Richard Chown, Jeweler.

WEBSITE: www.richardchown.co.uk

He does stunning wrought silver jewelry and various other items.

Part of the appeal to us was the fact that a lot of his work is specifically made in a Rustic Style. If you want super polished, refined etc... QVC may be your best bet.

Look at his very detailed website and blog to get the idea.

MOST IMPORTANTLY....... His work is personally guaranteed, and VERY affordable.

Essentially "Art on a budget"

Nicola has always wanted me to have a wedding ring, and I conceded and bought a simple one off Ebay...... £100-ish.
She also wanted me to have something nice, and suddenly when we were at Richards stall where we got personal one to one attention, it all came together.

A hand made, shaped, curved silver ring which is then inlaid with layer upon layer of very finely sliced wood. In the case of my order it was Sapele Mahogany. The layers of wood are bonded with good old fashioned Super Glue, as Richard as an Alchemist and Silversmith has yet to find a better glue to offer extreme hardness, and resistance to all weathers.

The ring also got its hallmarks, and was posted to me in a lovely presentation bag.

This ring brings together my passion for wood and hand made items.

The price...... £45.00 plus £5.00 postage and packaging.

Take a look at Richards website and the various sections with other items he makes.

I am happy with this new ring and it has changed my view on wedding rings, "Why not have something you like" will now be my motto.
Greetings from England.

Rian.

Hoping to get it all done in time.
