Mike your picture of the eagle is now my background picture
if that causes you a problem I'll remove it other wise it's going into my picture file.

And now a quick word about Foamie’ trailers ...if I may ?

Anybody had any thoughts of eliminating all plywood entirely ... :o Just too many problems (ask Mike) with the c**p that’s reasonably available to us .... (box stores)
I’m thinking for half the price (and weight) we could use cedar fence boards for flooring ... naturally resistant to rot and bugs , and we know how to waterproof it ... easily and with no chance of the dreaded de-lam .... :o Select boards could be ripped and laminated for frame work ...
Can’t see any reason to use something that “could” possibly delaminate down the road (or in your yard) ... That would make all your efforts just rubbish .... :frightened:

Eagle , I’m sure all of us will come up with something suitable ... The more I’m thinking about a board floor , the more I like , The Old Timers used , probably why they lasted so long ... My Little CT has a board floor which is just fine after a number of years ...

Gotta find a new source of legal feathers ... need em’ now ... :D 88920

I wasn't thinking of the ones that are still attached..They might not like that..but I would give them a ziploc bag and ask them if they find one to put it aside for you if they did you might get a neat collection of some exotic feathers or any place that sells feathers for guys who tie flys that all I can think of

I hope you have better luck selling them that I did (cheap baskerts 'roun' these parts)

For the winter versions I use old wool skirts and slacks, other (season) wise, linen skirts, heavy cotton, camo shirts (Army type both the digital stuff and the older version as your tear), you name it...Denim too...All my material is re-purposed; comes from thrift stores and the like (unless the fabric store has something I particularly like in the remnant bin)...

My pale, tan linen one did get a few compliments this past week (we were on vacation in Honolulu last week)...

Now, BTL (back to lurking)...

Mine "spot" is a reverse yarmulke.

Yeah. I couldn't find any I liked and the price.?! They sure are proud of 'em...Like you, I just made one, then another, and anoth...I've lost count as to how many I've made...I've only sold three and most of the rest I've either given away or just taken them up to church for people to take and drop whatever they thought they were worth in the basket.

I call 'em "Sloppies," for the obvious reason...

Woolen "Sloppies." Nice to keep the chill off the poorly insulated roof...
88935
Khaki "Sloppies." Nice all-around-ers...

Miscellaneous "Sloppies." My summertime favorite is the linen one on top...

I'm presently making men's vests as well as messenger bags...Since I'm at the age where the devil's workshop is too tiring, Idle hands, yada yada yada...

Nice "sloppies" though I like some kind of brim so my ears don't get fried. And I wear a very large hat size also. That was probably caused when a spud cellar fell in on me when I was 10. It broke those four bones in your skull. Doc xrayed me, after I was out cold for about 20 minutes and a fast car trip 25 miles to town. He look me over and said. "Well, if he ain't dead yet nothing I can for him." ( insert facial ticks here as I tell the story ) .

Back on topic for a bit. I just tried drilling holes in 2 inch foam. Easy to drill of course. I used forstner bits. They wobble a lot in the foam so a 1/2 bit makes a good hole for 5/8 inch dowel. I am thinking of drilling holes in the plywood floor and then holes in the foam and gluing in dowels. From the way it wobbles 1/2 bit and a 5/8 dowel and still leaves space for Gorilla Glue. Any body else have any experience on this?

Try a piece of thin wall pipe about the size of your hole sharpened on the end. Push down and turn it at the same time and it will cut a clean hole.
