It's a good thing that you have this forum to help occupy some of your time, Mike.
Hopefully, spring is just around the corner for you in maybe another month.

Here, the trees and daffodils and hyacinths are in bloom and the temperature today is a sunny 75 degrees.
I missed out on planting any snow peas this year because winter was so short, and while all this probably sounds wonderful, our rain totals for this season are sitting at 54% of normal. That part is not good.

I guess you just have to look for the silver lining in any clouds that come your way.

Think positive and dream of Walking with the Wind this summer!

Let's get the wind machines up there and add to the mix.

There's a place in France where the wind blows for a month.
Some people even go mad.

I've been thinking the same thing. Surely someone else has thought about all the electricity that could be generated and sold.....

Here in South Dakota we have a saying, "the only time the wind stops blowing is to change directions."
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.

Wyoming without wind wouldn't be Wyoming, Mike ... ...!

My first day on a real oil rig was in January 1980 in Rock Springs ... 20º with a 40mph wind coming across the floor! ... that night I drew the short straw and had to sleep on the floor (5-man crew, 4-bed motel room/suite) ... woke up to a 3' snow drift inside the room's door, just inches from my head ... ...! Believe it or not, I learned to love it! We also decided that the snow never melts in WY ... it just gets worn out being blown back and forth across the state!

Hang in there ... warmer, calmer days are 'round the corner ... ...

One thing I have learned in all these years of traveling through Wyoming and Nevada, you will have a headwind going and returning. It nevers fails. Just hang on to your hat, Slow, and keep on smiling.

Hey Mike

I stole that pic from a friend of a friend on facebook. I would probably faint if I was that close to it.

I don't know if I would faint, s*** my pants, or what... but I don't think I would ever want to get that close to a tornado. A thunderstorm is okay, but a tornado... not!

When I was younger and on a motorcycle camping trip I camped one night in an Iowa State Park. After dark a storm came up and the ranger would drive through the park with his loud speaker one saying to take cover there is a tornado in the area. I would look at my motorcycle, then my tent, motorcycle, tent. Look at ranger car. "Thank you for that information"

It came about 2 miles from us and caused some damage but the most amazing thing to me was the cloud was a constant green light and the warm rain. Living in Idaho I had never felt warm rain before and always scoffed at holywood movies that had people out in the rain. In my mind rain is cold, very cold. I have seen one real tornado here in Idaho. It was about 1 mile from me and going away. It was very small and I have seen dust devils that could cause more damage.

Back when I was but a pup I got to talk to a bunch of old timers that moved to Idaho from the dust bowl. They said they didn't know what wind was until they moved to Idaho. Here our trees and power poles lean toward the east.
