We had racket ball size hail at the house according to our neighbor. No damage that I can see and the roof does not appear to be leaking. Luckily the tornados were south and east of us. The wife and I were both at work during the storm so the cars were parked in garages and protected.

WOW!!! Those videos of those semi-truck trailers.....unbelieveable  My heart breaks for those affected by such terrible storms..

I've helped in Southern Indiana after the March 2nd tornado outbreak there. The devastation from tornados is terrible.

Something I did learn during one of my days of helping on the admin side by helping with the coordinators of the volunteers and resourses, if you want to help, please go through the proper channels. There will be a "clearing house" set up that will channel volunteers and material resources to where they are needed the most. Register with them. They'll give you something to do. There are physical clean-up jobs, pick up the bags and put them in the trash truck jobs, answering phones, clerical jobs, even mental help counseling jobs--everything needs to be done and they don't need too many volunteers in one place. I was originally placed in a distribution location (sorting donated supplies), but there were too many people there. I was sent elsewhere where I could assist in another way.

And don't forget down the road in a few months--they will need help with rebuilding. There's always things to be done around a build site.

Oh and another thing.....don't send used clothing at this time. Southern Indiana sent 5 semi-truck loads of used clothing to Goodwill in just one week. New clothes, yes--there's less to sorting new clothes. They keep reminding everyone to send money--then they can buy what they need to help those who need help. Water is a great thing to donate, along with cleaning supplies for inside houses/businesses, outside tools (rakes, gloves, wheelbarrows, shovels, etc.), and more gloves--there's a lot of broken glass and sharp metal out there.

OK, off my soapbox....you guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

I fared well. One of my relatives lives in Forney and the roof was torn off of the elementary school of the kids'. No one was hurt though.

I was listenting to the news when the storm spotter saw that happen. It's good to hear that no one was hurt.

The elementary school
The kids at the elementary school were boarding the buses to go home when the Principle ordered everyone off the buses and into the library. Blessfully, :worship: the tornado struck the section of the school where the kids would have been boarding the bus. It hit everywhere, but the section that included the library.

I bet that principle will be getting a lot of "ata-boys" :applause:

Help Needed
The mayor of Forney, TX said that diapers and baby care items (formula, etc.) are what is needed most now and of course monetary donations are needed and can be made at the Red Cross site. (Perhaps they can be ear-marked for Forney or whichever city you wish to direct your funds.)
