Our First "Gathering"

Postby Vedette » Thu Aug 09, 2012 7:53 am

As we headed for home to finish our teardrop, we lucked onto the UP Crawl on the Upper Penninsula of Michigan at Indian Lake State Park.
What a nice bunch of folks!
They let us set up our tent with them and welcomed us with open arms.
We could only spend one night with them as we were headed the other way and had to be on our way early????
Finally got on the road by about 2:00 pm. (So much for the early start).
Thanks again to the Tear Jerkers members we got to meet and the TTnT Forom members we finally got to meet in person.
Can't wait to get home now to finish "Miss Piggy"
At least we did have the 46 Studebaker with us.
Thanks Again "Tear Jerkers"

We have friends of ours that are aware of our teardrop and who we have camped with a couple of times that also encountered the group up in the UP.

On our way to and from the IRG, with well over 100 trailers in attendance, all the way from lovelock Nevada, not one tear. But Wednesday there was on parked having lunch at our local burger joint. I went in and faked to them. A trailer from the 30s. It has always been in her family.

We are home!
Got in about 4 hours ago.
Lawns are cut, water is on, just about to sit down to supper and a glass of wine to unwind from the last leg of our 6,000 mile trip.
Last two days were the nicest roads and best scenery of the whole trip.......that is a whole other post yet to come.
Back to work on the teardrop tomorrow!!
Hope to be back on the road in a week or so with the trailer behind the 46 Studebaker this time.
Truck ran flawlessly.
