Sources for interesting interior lights?

Postby jeff0520 » Thu Aug 16, 2012 9:03 am

Hello all.
As the wall framing is coming together on the Command Post, I've begun thinking about the interior. I'm thinking through lighting right now. Most of the interior light fixtures I'm finding are boring at best, and ugly refugees from 1960's conversion vans at worst.I need to find some nice looking, wall mounted light fixtures, that use a standard buld socket so I can switch to LED bulbs. I'm really looking for something a little unique. The plain white bubble dome just isn't going to get it. I am going to need 4 wall lights, and 2 reading lights. Anyone have any ideas on where to look?
Thanks

http://www.ledlight.com/

Go to the section Low Voltage or automotive for bulbs.
Look in the Sockets Section for the ... wait for it Sockets to put the bulbs in.

You have to wire them your self but that shouldn't be an issue.

Ok, that link is awesome! with those bulbs I wouldn't have to restrict my shopping to RV fixtures. I could use regular home fixtures and put the 12v bulbs in. Awesome idea! That really widens the search parameters

Take a look at the lights we offer. http://oregontrailer.net/Oregon_Trailer/Accessories.html I actually need to update the picture of the dome light...it actually comes with a diffusion lens, not the clear acrylic shown... But you get the idea. Check out the YouTube video of them in action at he bottom of the page. They are remote controlled, and ship with a custom remote holder with a teardop shape molded into the back! You can see this on the main page of our site in the pics of FronTear. ;) you can, of course, lock them down to any color, and they're dimmable too! We hand make the African Mahogany housings ourselves. Our reading lights work awesome too. They're warm white, and medium/low intensity- easy on the eyes for night reading. They are designed to be installed between the two occupants at the head of the bed area.

Well, it seems the text of a private message I just sent to another guy who was trying to help me find it fits here too, so I'll just cut and paste
Cool! Looks like those lights really work good. What I really want is Tiffany style stained glass, but the prices they want are just ridiclous. So I went to YouTube University and learned about stained glass. :D I think the tops of my cabinetry in the front and back are going to have a 6 inch high stained glass panel the width of the trailer, with indirect LED lighting behind it that will be the main illumination, with a few reading and accent lights. Might even make stained glass shades to match for the accent wall lamps on each wall :) Should look awesome.
