Fantastic Fan Noise

Postby coop74 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:07 pm

Ok... I am 2 trips 3 nights into owning a Micro-Light Etreme camper. Love it.

I have a question however, the fan when running in 3 speed forward (expelling air) position it is plenty quite. On low it is near perfect. However the day just to see what it was like I set it to push air into the trailer. It makes a squealing noise, I really dont see how that sound it made can be normal.

Are these fans know to be problematic, is it something that will get better as the fan breaks in, or do I have a bum fan right out of the box?

replies would be great. I have considered making a video/audio recording if that is useful.

I would drop a note off to Fantastic Vent about your issue. They are great about customer service. I've used them on 4 tears since 2005 and they have been fine in either direction when using them. No squeals at all. Is it right from the armature in the motor or is something out of line and causing a scrape somewhere else in the fan housing? Does it change if the windows are open or not when pushing air into the trailer? Doug
