Finished my Conversion and Made our First Trip

To make the Cabinet Face Frames I used the pocket hole method. It is strong and clean.

To make the pocket holes, I used a Kreg Jig that I purchased from Rockler.com
It was amazingly easy to use and made very strong cabinet faces from a very light weight and some what soft wood.

Great work! I am curious if you found a good source for the disappearing screen door. I am thinking of using one in my CC trailer, but most of the sources I had are too expensive for my budget.

I used the low end Phantom Screen

I could not get the bottom rail to work right. So only the top rail is attached. The more expensive models work better, but this one does work, just be careful. Check how the bottom rail hooks on. I kept stepping on it and bending it.

Nice work.I especially like the folding table.

Is that varnish over the OSB / wafer board? It looks ready for tropical grass cloth wallpaper. Bamboo trim might go good with that. But then you'd need a string of lights with little palm trees outside around the kitchen or pop-up awning and a pink flamingo to stick in the ground beside the door.

Where's the Dutch oven?

Nicely done conversion.

I wondered about the patio though. What is that made of? Does it bend when you stand on it?

I did sand the OSB board, it was already in the trailer. Then I used sanding sealer, lightly sanded, then varnish. It is smooth.

The folding table is from IKEA as well as the bed/sofa
I just bought a dutch oven.

Mike, the patio is the ramp that came with the trailer. No bend, I think it was designed for motorcycles to roll up on. I certainly don't weigh as much as a bike. Looks like 3/4" ply wood and a metal frame. It works GREAT.

It's a camping club. You don't have to have a conventional teardrop or a shiny street rod from the 30s. We even have people in tents, Casitas and a converted cargo trailer. There are no dues. Just email the club's director and show up. Life is awesome at these gatherings. Great folks!

Hi Doug,

Your trailer looks great. I've gotten some good ideas from this site to improve the Featherlite trailer we bought for hauling our motorcycle. We won't be camping in it (tow it behind our RV), but the storage and space arrangement ideas have been helpful.

On a side note: I'm a retired professional photographer (M. Photog. Cr., CPP); our paths crossed a few times at conventions and seminars. We sold our business 3 1/2 years ago... haven't looked back since.
