Spamboree 7 & Route 66 Rendezvous Pictures

Postby Gage » Mon Sep 18, 2006 4:49 pm

Aw, it's about time. I now have the pictures up for the Spamboree 7. Just click the link.

Also have a few pics of the 'Route 66 Rendezvous' happening this last weekend where the Teardrop trailer was inducted into the 2006 'Cruisin Hall of Fame' What a joke the whole thing ended up being. Not putting blame on SoCal Teardrops. I feel it was the organizers of the event where the blame lies because of the lack of communications and the fact that we felt that once Saturday was over, they were finished with us. The feeling of just being used. Because of remarks made by one of the chairman in charge, we all pack up and left Saturday night. Not one of us was invited to the induction ceremonies or even to participate in the 'Cruise of Champions' Sunday which would have been nice. I didn't even get our access passes until after we got there which made it a little hard to get a couple of the teardrops in after the streets were locked down.
On the short notice given, I was able to get 4 more teardrops besides mine that made for a nice verity. We had 4 home builts and a rare scad-a bout. So, just click the button for the pictures.

Have a good day.

Great photos, Gage! I liked the cars as much as the trailers, especially the Ramblers. I don't see much AMC stuff at car shows around here. From 1987 to 1994 I owned a 1964 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200 convertible. It had a 273 V-8, and the push button auto tranny, and had a trailer hitch on it. It would have made a great tow car for a teardrop! Too bad I didn't know they existed then! The valiant was white, with a white top and a black vinyl interior. The seats got hotter than heck in the sun!

Great job, Gage, even if I had not managed to break my camera I would not have had all those good shots.
Well done. :applause: :applause: :applause:

I don't know his name but I believe this is his second one. The first was destroyed and he was almost killed when it was rear-ended on the way home one year.  If you look at Gage's other Spamboree pages you may find the old car that goes with it.

The builder of that one is Dean Tennis of SoCal. That's Chummy II. Build after he got out of the Hospital from when someone tried to drive over him instead of going around him in AZ some where while on a trip back east to a Model A meet. It happened on the second day of his trip. Below are pictures of the 'A' and Chummy. Then one of the after math of the wreak which completely destroyed the Chummy.

Have a good day.

I believe he was in the Hospital for some 6 months.
