mattress dimensions

Wondering if a small twin bed mattress of some kind will fit in my tear, approx 46"x76". I'm just thinking ahead, not even done with the tear yet.

A twin will fit but be a little narrow. A full is a little to wide. Do a search because someone a few months ago gave all the mattress dimensions. Those little folding dorm type chair/beds fit two wide real nice and have a plus of being chairs. Wallyworld sells them for about $40 each. I found my mattresses by cruising the neighborhood and picking up sofa cushion that people were throwing away. I picked the best out of a dozen, Washed them in a bleachy water air dried and cut to size. Sewed up a nice quilted cover and saved a bunch.

Something to consider:

The mattress in my sofa sleeper is exactly 48" wide. The mattress by itself is not that great, but if I add a 2" foam pad under it, it's pretty nice.

I've got two 24" wide 2" thick foam camping pads. Side by side they make a perfect cushion under the sofa mattress.

Check around and see if you can find a good used sofa sleeper for a few bucks. Keep the mattress, toss the sofa. Some older sleepers actually have decent mattresses.

so... we are sleeping on a Twin XL+ I guess. Luckily we have the cabin walls to keep us from falling off the bed!
