Postby mikeschn » Wed Nov 28, 2007 7:27 pm

The original thread got lost, so I'm starting a new one... Building the Generic Evacuation Trailer, or ET for short...

Here's the plan...

I'll try to get most of this thread rebuilt this weekend.

Mike I'm glad you have restarted the thread again. I have missed it also. You have lots of good ideas that helps me in my trailer building ideas. My standy is on hold during the bad weather and cold. I still have the smaller "Weekender" ( all constructed with Steel Insulated Door blank cupons - ALL parts ) SIP construction to use during the months of bad weather. I have a few pictures that I made while there was enought light. It was a fast build to get something for LCGII which I did not make again this year ( long story ).

Good evening,

Mike, this is THE thread I'm watching daily on this forum: your current build has everything me and my wife want of such a rig.

Would you be so kind as to share this MOI model? I'm beginning to learn how to use that tool, and I think the ET would be perfect for me to study!

Thanks in advance and please keep up your excellent work and your generous contributions to this community!

:D Soooooo,

Where are all the pictures? I was following the old thread, but it was getting kind of cumbersome, if you had to go back and try and look for something.

I guess I will waiting impatiently. ;)

Requirements? okay, here was a list of my original requirements...

Ability to stand up inside it.
Ability to cook inside
Ability to go potty inside
Ability to take a shower inside
Ability to use a bolt together trailer
Ability to sit and eat inside
Simple construction
Lightweight
Can be towed with a medium sized car
Adequate storage

So far, the only thing I have ruled out is taking a shower inside. Showers will be replaced by sponge baths...

I really wanted a bolt together trailer, but the trailer I got from redtrailers.com was a welded job. That made moving the axle really tough.

Here's a plan view of the ET. Yea, I know it's a little on the wide side. Sorry about that.
