Anyone up for a gathering in Eustace, Tx at Purdis Creek near Athens?
Purdis Creek Tx State Park

There's one guy on the board that lives there, I'll let him reveal himself.(Cowper)

There is a poll to see which weekend is better March26, April2, or April9 (TX Teardrop Gathering - What weekend is best?) I should be done with my teardrop by then. That will force me to get it done!

Don't know if mine will be finished by then, but I still have a tent. Any weekend would be fine for me. I'll probably bring the tear finished or not.

KZ,

Yes, I'm farther along, but one of the many things I've learned bulding this thing is, the farther I get into it, the slooooower it seems to go.

Or maybe I'm slowing down real fast!

Edit: I looked on the map and that's not that far from me. It's about an hour on the other side of Waco, so about four hours. I was thinking it was closer to Tyler.

I would like to come up there on April 9-10........if my camper is ready by then. It could be if rainy weather doesn't slow me down on painting. Like to try my hand at some fishing there out of my kayak.

The Fishing, The Outdoors, The Teadrops, the possibilities.

The fishing is excellent, my Brother and I go there alot and have caught many large bass but don't think about eating them, it is stricktly catch and release.

There are directions on the Texas Parks site. 8)

 No you can't bring that phone Steve. ;)

Catch and release for largemouth bass only. You can keep crappie, catfish, sunfish, & sand bass. Crappie have been biting like crazy, bass have slowed down quite a bit. I imagine the bass will pick up in the few weeks.

Here's another site: http://www.purtiscreek.com

We voted for April 9-10. The first weekend of April would also work for us. Don't think we'll have the Teardrop finished but will bring the tent that attaches to the SUV and try it out for the first time.

Wonder if we could have the teardrop roadworthy even if unfinished????

This event gives me a goal to shoot for. Hopefully I can get it to at least usable state. If not, it may be tents again. By usable, I mean structurally complete with the wood protected from the elements. Not necessarily cladded with aluminum or finished with electrical and plumbing.

No, dynamite is fine. :o

BTW, I talked to the boss last night and he said it sounds like a lot of fun. You guys come up with the date (it looks like it's gonna be the third choice) and I'll see what I can do about special rates. If we have enough interested I'll probably get with our office manager and block off quite a few sites so we could all be close together, and close to the showers/restrooms.

They're all 30 amp water/electric sites. Heavily wooded, so it's hard to see your neighbor. Normal rate is $14 per night - let me know if you guys really wanna do it and I'll get buzzing.
