Hi Folks, I am thinking of fitting the inside of my trailer walls/ceiling with white carpet. I was going to put vinyl on the floor.

On the 'for' side it seems to be quick to apply, cheap, have a good finish, heat and sound insulating and comfortable.

On the 'against' side it might be a moisture trap.

Is there anybody out there with relevant experience that can advise me?

I used marine hull liner opn the inside roof oof my trailer. I'm not sure there are any downsides that I have noticed, and this stuff doesn't really seem like a moisture trap...Dave

Years ago I used carpet as a headliner in a VW van I owned. Worked fine and had no problems.

Same here only I used it on my walls. Very satisfied.

Al as the folks suggested use Marine Hul liner or Marine Carpet. Just because its cheap and quick dont fall for that in my opinion, due to the possibility of moisture being trapped under causing mold and mildew.
The Hulliner is what I also recommend for the usage. You wont be sorry.

If you gentlemen don't mind could you tell me what you used for glue to attach the carpet to the walls. And how would that stuff you used work for direct contact with Aluminum? Wayne

You can use either of these products:

I used a light web covering buildup (on both sides). You have to be careful to not overdo it to prevent over saturating the material and having bleed it through. I put mine down over wood but it should stick to aluminum also.

I used basically the same 3M Glue as above. And yes it does stick to aluminum.
