color of cargo trailer

I am this close to ordering my new cargo trailer R&R 7X12 vnose.
Now one of the things is what color?
I like white, light gray or red then I see a moroon one and I like them also.
I would like to know what color trailer you have thanks

1) white
2) red
3)light gray
4) maroon
5) other?

If you notice pretty much Every RV on the market is white or off white.. Reason is heat. When I was looking at Cargo trailers and told them I was going to camp in it. First thing out of every dealers mouth was I better stick to white or maybe a light grey. But they stressed white would be much cooler.

Most important part is the roof. That is total sun exposed. Keep it light. Stay with light coloured sidewalls. BTW; grey will soak heat almost as bad as black

I check the external side skin temperature with an infrared temperature gun on a sunny day around noon. Both were side by side in direct sun light. Atmospheric temp was 65. White temp was 88 and the black was 118. 30 degrees difference is enough to convince me.

Thanks for the replies My truck is white and a white cargo hauler makes a lot of sense.

I am on disibility retirement with fixed income so I want to do this right the first and last time.

I think white with some decals or belly stripes would make it look better than all white.

it will have windows and rv style door.

Holy smokes.. I knew there would be a difference but thats Huge. 118 surface temp on a 65 degree day. Sounds like a solar oven!!

I got a royal blue, just because it was already on the lot and I liked it. After a couple of years, I still like blue better than any other color. Maroon would be second color choice.

But the dark colors are warmer in sun. And I'd probably get white next time around. Although, with insulation added, it may not be as big a deal. Especially for me, since I camp near the coast most of the time where its 65 degrees most times, or less.

I'm in the final stages of research for a cargo trailer and have a 6x12 v-nose that I'm considering. It is BLACK and at first I was concerned but after thinking about where I'll be using it (Alaska) I'm now confused. Will I want the extra heat or with the extended summer sun will it be too much. Any imput would be great!

You have to take into account the angle of the sun. Being far north; direct sun is at a much lower angle than a place like CA. Your 'direct' sun will be much less intense. You will get much less solar soaking.

I still have hopes of getting a cargo trailer some time.

Mine is black but I think the roof is the biggest issueso i'm going to put a white rubber roof on this summer
