Just remember, if there is a burn ban, no wood or charcoal burning grills or smokers.

I may do a roast pork (carnitas), since I don't need a fire for that.

Well, it's been dryer than normal in Eastern Texas, but a lot wetter than normal in Western Texas, so maybe we'll get lucky and be able to have fires.

If there is no burn ban, I'll do smoked catfish. If there is a burn ban, I'll do lemon chicken.

I'll bring yellow squash too.

Dont know what Mike and I will make but rest assured it will be tasty...... My head is to clogged up with TAKS testing right now to think straight. Give me a day or two and that will be past us and I will get the ole brain thinking about FOOD for camping....... Keep the fingers crossed and prayers going up that there will not be a burn ban........ and that God will grace us with a mild breeze and no rain during those days.....

Not even electric smokers? I have no problem cooking something ahead of time but will need some way of heating it back up.

Can't wait to meet all the new peeps we haven't camped with yet!!

I've used an electric smoker there during a burn ban, which almost always. Nothing was said about it and I was visited by the rangers several times.

Well, I'm planning on not being able to use my grill, and have decided to make some kind of meatballs. Maybe Italian -- maybe Swedish.

I can bake those at home, and then cook them into a sauce on site.

Hmmm, me thinks I'll make a BIG batch of cheesy hash browns for the PL. I can use my electric smoker to heat it but won't need to have charcoal or wood chunks for flavor.

I'm with Caseydog on the burn ban, hoping for the best but preparing for the ban.

Potluck, Mr. Red, is always Saturday at dinnertime.

It is also always good, and there is always too much.

As it was, as it is, and as it ever shall be -- TD Gathering Potluck. Amen.

Since I haven't seen anything about desserts ... I will make a peach cobbler ... in dutch oven if no burn ban ... if a burn ban ... I am bringing a toaster oven and can cook it in there!!

So looking forward to seeing everyone. Our reservations are for Friday and Saturday ... but we are leaving Wednesday AM and could be there Thursday ... or just might wonder around for awhile and get there by noon on Friday.

Don't forget Breakfast on Saturday morning. Is there a central meeting place for meals? Trudy
