Grand Lake, OK - Bernice State Park SEPT 15-17

Postby oklahomajewel » Fri May 26, 2006 6:18 pm

Okay, South Central and everyone else is welcome too ---

SEPT 15-17 at BERNICE STATE PARK on the Grand Lake o' the Cherokees in far northeast Oklahoma is the site for a teardrop gathering ! I hope you all can come! (As for me, I better have my Jewel Box done way before then)

One trailer per site, $18 per night. Seniors get at $2 discount.
Sites have grills and most have picnic tables. 30 amp elec. service.

I spoke with the man in charge and he will not take reservations but he will guarantee me a minimum of 10 spaces together. He said that on that weekend , and being after Labor Day we may even be the only ones at the park and it should be absolutely no problem. It's usually very slow then. I even tried to get him to take a deposit ahead of time to reserve it but he wouldn't. He did tell me that he will guarantee the spots though. So let's go for it !

Click here for pictures and to view a map

I'll post a campground map if possible, later.

Julie- I just told Lucas (my 13 year old, he's my camping partner) that you are planning a gathering. He said "YEAH"! So we will try and make this one, if school cooperates. We'll have to skip a high school football game, but we'll be at the rest of them. (My daughter is in the band) Sounds good!

Thanks for being the first to commit, Karol. Yes, I'll skip a football game too, my oldest Scott will be a senior next year and is in band also (baritone) ... And don't know what the OU Sooners schedule is yet, as I hope to do a little tailgating with my crimson & cream teardrop !!!

I *might* go up there that Thursday night or just early on Friday.

I started to call ya yesterday and see how you're dad and brother have been. PM me and let me know. Hope all is fine.

Julie,

The "Crappie Capital of the World," How could teardroppers from all over the world resist this gathering? I know I want to come. Got the ultra light Zebco and the crappy jigs ready to go! After it's over can I park my TD in your yard a couple of days, while I visit friends in OKC? PM me your answer.

PS - do you clean fish?

Thanks Aunti M, hope there will be a big enough mess that I'll need help with them. Hate to have to roll the taters in corn meal and pretend they are fish.

Hey Lady,

Count me in. I had been working shoulder to-the-wheel to get mine done by the end of May (As yesterday was the last day of May, its not going to happen. I have about 35% more to go.). I decided to post-pone registering for class until the fall due to burn out. I needed a break.

I should have mine ready and water tested by the end of June at the lastest!

If I understand you correctly, we just show up and pay?

Thanks for organizing things!!
