Thanks Campin' Texan,
This has been a crazy week, gone most of the week at a conference and no time to even think about the build. I got back late Saturday, changed cloths and went out to the garage to work on the jelly bean. I didn't like the first layer of Baltic Burch I had on the front so off it came and a fresh one went on. On Sunday I only had about six hours to work on it so I finished the insulation.
Image

Using Gorilla glue first i screwed the Baltic Burch on. I will remove the screws before I put on the aluminum.

Image

Now to finish the cabinets. I got the mechanisms for the drawer guides so now I have to put in the dividers.
Image

Here's a thought  The drawers don't go all the way back so I'm going to figure a way to use the space behind them as a secrete compartment. ;) Don't tell anyone!

Cabinets are in, now for the doors and drawers. I still have to do the wiring for the outlets.

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. My sister and her son and family are coming to a family reunion at my home in July and are bringing their teardrops. After that we are headed to the coast and headed south. We may do Route 66 part way but it will be HOT so I'm not sure how far we will get.

Glued the aluminum to the left side today and will do the right side Sunday.

Aluminum is on and trimmed. I dry fitted the door and it looks good! I'm keeping the cover on until it goes to the paint shop. I got to make a run to see Grant and pick up some aluminum for the top and gally lid soon. I'll do that while it's at the paint shop.

Aghh :x having problems with the contact cement for the right side. I applied it exactly like I did for the left side but it never got sticky. Now I have both the sides of the TD and Aluminum coated but not going anywhere. I'm calling Dap in the morning. Boy am I pissed :x

I have a full slate of car shows scheduled this summer all of them local. I was hoping to have the TD done soon. When I'm not camping in it I will use it for my T shirt business at the car shows. I do plan to go camping in July this year. :D

Well, I finally got the other side on but I'm still not happy with the way it turned out. :x I called DAP who said the good news was that I could put another layer on and it would reactivate what I had on before. I make sure the temperature was correct, rolled another layer of the contact cement on and waited for at least an hour as per instructions. It still didn't feel right but I put it on anyway. I got mixed results but enough of it stuck that I can't take it off again and I doubt if it will in it's lifetime. :( There will be enough of it connected around the door and edges that I think it will be good enough for who it's for. I will not recommend to use the water based DAP contact cement though the oil based stuff worked well even if I had to have plenty of ventilation when using it.

I bolted the body to the frame and am in the process of mounting the fenders but they will have to come off when painting it. I'm debating to either paint the fenders the same color as the sides or paint them black. What do you all think?
