$30 (or Free) 5 Quart Lodge Dutch Oven on Amazon

It is not a camping model. But the lid doubles as a frying pan.

OK. It comes out to free if you get their credit card. But the price is $30 with free shipping which is a deal by itself. Dealnews.com says Wamart has the same price but you have to pay sales tax. If you get an Amazon credit card you get a $30 credit.

So get the card first, then make the purchase.

OK. I searched around a little more and found another one for a couple bucks less on Amazon. The difference is the lid has a center handle for one hand lifting but you can no longer use the lid as a skillet.

Maybe they change this on a regular basis, but I just did a search in Google for "Amazon credit card offers" and got this link http://www.amazon.com/gp/cobrandcard/marketing.html. This morning the offer was a $30 credit. Now it says $40.

Amazon does things based on what you look at on Amazon. My wife bought me a nice camera in January planning to give it to me for Valentines Day. Amazon ruined the surprise. Within a few days I was getting emails for accessories for my recent purchase of a Canon T1i. Even though she bought it under her own account, she did it on my PC where I had also logged into Amazon. I also get emails from Northern Tool when something I looked at online goes on sale. I develop web sites so I understand how it all works. Amazon should fix their cookie tracking. It's a world wide tangled web.

I guess what I was getting at in that last post was that maybe Amazon will only give the credit if they have seen you actually viewed that they offer the credit.

Gas stove burner grates are a great thing.

A flat bottom d.o. can be used with coals by setting the grate over the coals and setting the d.o. on top.

A handled lid will also work as a skillet by letting the dee handle drop between the grate fingers.

So if you see a gas stove at the curb for the trash guys stop and grab a set of four :D

If you have trouble keeping the coals on the domed lid the ring of a spring form pan is a great thing also.
Growing older but not up !
