Flea-market finds Sat. 3-3

Postby Joamon » Sat Mar 03, 2012 6:02 pm

Today was a good find day. I found quite a few (to many). Had to make myself leave. I found a wide variety at low prices.

Image
First was this coleman lamp. I have been wanting one of these to work on for a while.

Image
Next was this Sears lantern. Really clean shape. But it has a hole in the tank. I knew it when I bought it. I got a good price on it and will try to fix it.

Image
Next was this coleman 228 with big hat. Very clean, great price. Couldn't walk away.

Image
Next was this early Akron. Sad shape but really cheap.

Image
Last was this early Montgomery Wards made by Akron ( early 30's) I really like this and I think it will clean up nice and run again.

My collection from today. All were between $5 and $15.

Enjoy the view

That's a nice group of finds....and what's nice is that they are a bit more unusual than a typical load of 220's. You did well. You'll get plenty of enjoyment out of them....probably much more than if you dropped the coin on a movie and a bucket of popcorn. Doug

Awesome finds... I could be wrong, but I want to recall hearing that a 275 Coleman fount will fit that Sears twin mantle lantern.

I have gotten so many 220s that I am considering painting bulls eyes on them and take the shooting.

Joamon, great finds, you sure had a good day!

Randy, I have lots of 220's also. When time permits I am going to start making a few custom lanterns with special paint jobs and decals. It should be a fun way to change a common lantern into something special. Worth a thought!
