I am almost finished with my trailer [Terry's TTT Garageable Standy Build].
I contacted my car insurance company (Farmer's), and requested that they give me a quote for insuring the trailer.
They have requested that I give them an appraisal of the trailer.
To me, that would be the replacement cost or cost to build.
Farmers wants the value of the trailer in dollars.

I know that several of you have followed my build, and many have built their own trailers.

Does any of you care to give me an appraisal for my completed trailer!!??

It certainly would be appreciated!

Tomorrow, I will have finished re-painting the outside of the trailer.

I then need to install the sink and water system.
I have, also, posted this request on General Discussion

I took my material cost and doubled it. That made my Weekender worth about $3600.00 for insurance purposes.

You really need an appraisal from a recognized authority.

Steve mentioned "stated" value as an easy way to go.
I'm sorry, but I must caution against that route.
It is easy, but not a safe way to protect your investment.
You, I, anyone can "state" whatever we want, but when there is a claim, the adjuster for the insurance company will determine what the value is, period.

An agreed policy is much better, in that you and the insurance company agree upfront, in writing what the value is.
If there is a claim, they will honor that amount.
It is harder to find companies that offer agreed policies. State Farm is one that does.
Most companies are quite pleased to collect premiums based on your perceived "stated" value, but in the end pay what they feel it is worth.
It is very important to note that MANY insurance agents do not understand the difference between the two types of policies.

It sounds like your insurance company is attempting/requiring the matter of value to be settled upfront, which is a good thing.
You might ask what appraisers/local sources they use to determine values when they have claims on stated value policies.
Expect to pay $100-$300 for a professional appraisal, a lot I know, but well worth settling up front, rather than after an accident.

Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

Thanks everyone for your input on my trailer appraisal!
It looks like I will be going to a certified appraiser to get a value that the insurance company will accept.

I have completed the trailer except for the water system.
I will deal with that later.

I haven't had time to read through all the threads I've missed in the past few months.

The appraiser required outside trailer photos for his appraisal.
I had to move the trailer outside, in order to take some of the photos.
Shown below is a photo of the right side of the trailer.

Shown below is a photo of the left side of the trailer.

Shown below is a photo of the rear of the trailer.

Shown below is a photo of the front of the trailer.

I should get the appraisal by early next week.
Then, I can insure my trailer.
