I'd kinda goofed a little when I framed on top of the old trailer
I didn't leave a setback to allow for my plywood.
So the upper portion of the wall was out 3/8 from the angle iron box.
Been buggin me cause I knew I was going to have trouble making the transition to the angled front.
So I ground off the bolts and tie loops today and strapped the corner out and then made up corners.
Few too many screws but hey, it looks more like a ute then a camper anyhow.
I'll just mimick it at the back
And I got to use up some of the aluminum i cut out to put the window in...Waste not, want not.
Would have been real nice if I'd had a brake, but oh well

Now when I get more aluminum, can just strap out the rest of the sides, pull the screws up one side of the corner cap and slip the aluminum in

Image

Image

Then after a test weekend, I knew I needed an entry assist handle.
SO, from the old tailgate for the garbage wagon, I salvaged this stainless steel handle. Still have one more, hmmm

Image

I was checkin out what I had left of the checkerplate, boy did I use all of it or what, have 2 2" x 2" squares left
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Well installed A MaxxiAir vent cover today, that way can leave vent open so trailer can breath.
In my opinion as an rv tech, the best thing ever invented for trailers

Image

Then reinstalled my bumper after 3 years without, for better areodynamics.
And put my winch cover on for smoother air
Looks wierd...lol
Just have to be carefull climbing over logs and rocks again
Then lined up a charge for my AGM battery, gonna be doin some winching tommorrow

Image

And backed into the trailer...Grrrr
Missed the tail light though, whew

Trailer won this round

Image

Well back to Work tomorrow, have a 10 x 40 trailer to tear down and move
Finally, paying work
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Re: Campfx, Maxxed out, or is that in ?

Postby Martiangod » Sat Mar 24, 2012 12:48 pm

I think the biggest PITA when we took the trailer out was not having water on the outside, for dishes and such.
So cut the hole this morning and installed the outside shower.
This will make life easier, washing dishes, hair and when we get a shower tent, having a shower.

Image

Getting a little snug around the loo becasue these shower boxes are about 4 inches deep.

Image

Image

All fittings are Seateck, similiar to sharkbite and Pex lines, ran out of blue for the leg up to the shower but had enough red left to finish
Fired up the pump and we have water, whoo hoo!!!
and no leaks....yet..lol
Image

Made a quicky removable panel to hid everything

Image

And Finished

Image

This being back to work is leaving little time to work on the trailer, Shur glad I was able to Barnstorm it for 2 months or I'd never get it done.
But hopefully in a few weeks will be able to get the remaining aluminum so I can make it look like this
Then need to work on finding a escape hatch window for this side, Missed one a couple weeks ago casue I had no Money so said my Honey

Stainless steel wing table, formerly a cooler door behind a bar :guzzle:

And the hot water heater, got the propane to it and the water lines, fired it up and now have 6 gal of hot hot water

Now the wife has something to do while we are camping

Image

While I'm busy doing my stuff :guzzle: :picnic: :campfire: :chips: :guzzle:

Used the aluminum crutch leg

Hey, it was her hip that got replaced, she might as well be comfy in her new camping workstation station. :NC

Image

At the very least, she will have something to hit me with :BE

And it will store and travel on the back wall, door still opens, just have to figure a way for it to lock there

welded & hinged top right corner piece with eyelet for chain to left edge chain piece?
glad you are back to work and still had your chance to work on your trailer. hard to have the energy to do both and focus on both.
nice work on the external water and table. Hard to go wrong with stainless steel.

It also charcges the battery, smart charger

So, found some goodies on Kijiji, sort of like craigs list up here in the land of igloo's

Some camper jacks, had to move the ball jack to the front to make room for the holding tank and this was what I was thinkin to hang on the back

FREEBEEEEE !!!!!

Image

Some windows I don't really need

Image

These two I'll use

Image

One cleaned up, likely in the back door but not 100% certain yet

Image

A cook top, gonna take some elbow grease and maybe some high heat paint

Image

And a small gravity furnace, still have to check it out and make sure its safe to use but very little surface rust

Image
And last but not least

Cold beer maker

Image

Just plugged in the fridge, not holding my breath on it.

Was a crap shoot purchase for a whole $50, so I win no matter what by being able to use the 2 small windows, the rest is bonus.
The camper jacks were not in his ad, but when I got there he asked if I wanted them too

yah kno on that fridge, you can buy the plates for those "electric coolers" and just take out the big crap from that fridge (120v ac?) and put in the little plates with the fans. (12v dc) it is a well insulated shell with a nice shelf arrangement...

yeah, sounds like a hell of a deal for $50.
:-)

go with the 1750 watt inverter. you'll use it, or in case of emergency...

yeah, those jacks, little wire wheel and some bright red enamel...
:-)

on that "kitchen table, "attach to the back of the trailer" challenge. could you anchor it with just one of those tiny ratchet straps to the chain section you have there? just go full loop around the table top? maybe put the ratchet part on the outside hooked to the chain and anchor the other end, doubled over and screwed down with a fender washer, behind the table, then loop the strap around the side, forward then over to the chain and ratchet. if you put the anchor point behind the "table" to be half way down (low) it would also guard against hitting big bumps in the road so the top won't fly up and out.

maybe go tandum trailer for the cooler... or shine it up and sell it for $50. ;-)
