Reverse tear build journals?

Postby Woodstramp » Mon Feb 17, 2020 12:08 am

Hey,

Not been here in years since my original build ten years ago.

I've been mulling around another new build. I really think I'd like a rear entry style like the RT model. Anyone here built something along those lines?

My intent is to use it as sleeper while doing fishing trips. No plans for built in kitchen. On my old build we just cooked outside on a Coleman rig. I just need a comfy, climate controlled sleeper cabin to crash in at the end of the day. Figure I could just have an awning over the back door entry and cook and lounge there.

Thanks.

Mine is like that. More of a cargo door in back. I typically cook on a backpacking stove, the same gear I used for canoe camping. For me, a galley would be a waste. Some folks really like to cook while camping. My sister is like that. Elaborate meals.... To each his own.

Mine has a rear door also. I can fold up the bed to use it for cargo. Link in my signature.

Our campers full sized hatch opens up under the 10x10 canopy. This gives us a nice sized living room off of our bedroom. We have a screen and sides for the canopy.

I am a long ways into building a flat back with a rear E Exit.
Somewhere on the sides I will have Galley pieces :NC
Hoping a Honda Ruckus will will fit in the middle.

pmullen,

That looks real similar to my other build, except my door was farther back.

Let me see if I can post a pic here...

Twisted lines, I built my trailer to haul a motorcycle. It is a compromise but actually does work. While I have not carried my full sized vintage bikes, I have carried my CT70 many times to mid-ohio VMD. I remove the mirrors.

You can look at the picture above and maybe there is a picture in my gallery, to see how I made the hatch so large. The ceiling was not high enough for the larger bikes so I built the walls on top of a 1x2 on edge of the floor with a 1x4 on the outside.
