books
The book that got me interested in all this long ago
Tiny Tiny houses by Lester Walker (been republished several times)
covers history including campground cottages of the 1840's with bedrooms upstairs and you had to use a ladder thru the front windows to sleep. to houses made 1906 for SF earthquake to half tent houses that are collapsed and the front floor hinges up closing the house up during the winter
Handy Man Magazine comes up with them from time to time too.

Freewheeling homes by david pearson 2002 covers severa types

sheds by David Stiles 1993 (do-it-youself guide for backyard builders)

odd books to look at are rescuded buildings, living places, Houseboats, Rolling homes (handmade houses on wheels) look used book store.

next one will blow your minds

tree houses

using strips of wood like for a canoe is the first one and would look cool on wheels but you could cause accedents as you drove by.

They do not have to be found in trees they could be found on roads.

no I am not a arch student but I do love unusul and pritty designs but more so I like to get folks exsided about pushing Ideas a little farther.

Trailer of this design might have much less wind resistance but smoother ones are better.

have fun with these

(top image)

This cabin has a shape like a teardrop only of course square. A revosed design could make it a worth while design for a trailer. this cabin would be nice for parking on the beach or pulling along for that weeklong stay on private land in the mountains.

Note the fireplace outside with chimminy going into the cabin for heat. the front seems to flip down for a front porch.
somewhere I have an image of a cabin that has the front half of the house fold down and a tent is added to the front, for seasonal camping.
I looked up tiny protable cabins on google image.

Does someone actually live in that, or is it a storage shed. Seeing as how it's heated, I suspect someone lives in it! :o

That's exactly what my parents did 30+ years ago. They would have had to get a building permit to put up a garden shed. Being opposed to getting building permits in general if they didn't have to, they put their garden shed on skids so that it COULD be moved (winched up onto a flatbed truck) - not that it ever was!  In fact, it would probably fall apart if they tried to move it now!
