Functional is good! Glad to here from you again, I always find your posts entertaining.

The galley looks to be quite useful and well thought out.

Glad you are enjoying the fruits of your labor.

Postby kinto » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:10 pm

big thanks all :D

i truly appreciate all the comments & advice along the way... there are so many awesome people here. but I'm nowhere near finished... just not putting in as many hours since it's actually useable now. still A LOT of stuff to work out with inside storage, side tables, paint details, etc... i didn't understand the "never finished" thing when i first joined, but i do now!

and we're happy with the color as of now, but i figure should customize the paint job up a bit. A, becuz I enjoy painting & 2nd becuz I read a thread about a camp-inn being stolen...

"ummm, yeah... forget the missouri plates... it's desert brown with sky blue, white & a bit of orange... & has this on it...

Image

honestly, that's a pic I found on the net so i should probably ask permission from Bill Kuhlman of Whitehouse Ohio (whom I have no affiliation with) before I paint it... but i love that it looks like a native dance... or a native dance looks like that... whichever... such a great image...

and I also need to call the insurance people... think i read on here somewhere the standard is your $ receipts x2 for labor(?)

anyway, we're booked up this summer, but next year is wide open! i need to check into that tearjerkers stuff so we can meet some of you good folks in person.

cheers to all!

hello all

honestly not a whole lot of progress on the camper. my girl sewed up some curtains a while back.
Image

still need to make inside cabinet doors cuz everytime we get somewhere our clothes are all over the bed. sorta like this if it was socially acceptable to wear hardware. hardwear(?)
Image

anyway, we just got back from a ~3,000 mile, 2 week trip out west with no problems at all. it was awesome. my little ford focus even pulled the beast over the continental divide at wolf creek pass in colorado. at like 10,500 feet it was scary as hell but we made it! woohoo!

Kent,
Those are some really cool vacation pics. I like your curtains. We're still taping pillow cases over the windows.
Take care,

Thanks again Thomas, Becky, Tom, Cliff & Whitney

Becky... yeah, it does really well. i actually brought my canon slr along too but didn't even take it out of the bag once. i'm a bit of a photo nerd & with all of the rad apps available it's like having *better than* photoshop right there on your camera... limitless possibilities for post-process even just goofing around & winding down by the fire at day's end.

Cliff... i'd actually been out there before, but my girl hadn't. mesa verde is one of my fave places on earth. i was new to great sand dunes & canyonlands tho & she was just wowed by it all. i took about 400 pix & she shot around 1,200! plus, nice to finally get the tear outta missouri & after the continental divide my confidence is up to drag it around basically anywhere (well, without pontoons being involved...) also excited to fill in that little map below with states the camper has been to!

Whitney... dunno if our schedules will coincide since i'm back at work & you're headed west, but if they might feel free to pm me. and yellowstone... yesssss! that's our tentative goal for next summer. i keep telling her "sweetie, it's a super-volcano... you gotta see it before aliens start the zombie apocalypse of 2012!"

happy friday all!
