We have got us a contest people. We have 5 days and the numbers are still low so lots of room to guess. If you have not played before here is how it goes.

Guess the selling price of the piece I list without going over and you win a small prize of my choosing. This time it will be a small rechargeable flashlight that goes in your cigarette lighter.

We will play this kind of game here regularly all winter, so stay tuned. Many of you have played before and please keep playing its more fun with more players. You dont have to be a Coleman Collector or a regular here to play it just a fun way the keep interest high in the old camping junk we love. It does not matter if you have won before or not. All that I ask it do not duplicate another persons bid, and stop bidding 1/2 hour before the end of the auction.

The talk of the day is this 228 f Gold Bond. Should sell for very near $300.00 as lame copies sell for that much and more.

True, but it is also an indicator that it is the real deal. So may not hurt it much.

The photos look very similar and the damage under the top nut looks the same.

One is in Texas and one is in New York. That kind of damage is very common around the nut. All the Gold Bond stuff was made in a short period, so they all have similar dates. I think is was all made within a year or two. The experts will correct me.

Notice that the upper right corner of the coleman label on the contest lantern has a cut across it. The other lantern has the label intact with the remnants of someone;s name written on the fount. The chip in the vent is caused by overtightening the ball nut.
