One last little addition. I purchased this panel for the new trailer, but since that is not ready, it will be used for this trip.

80 Watts of power, should keep me topped off with my minimal use of electricity.

Paul, what you want to connect to a solar panel? Or just charge the battery ...

It is just to recharge my battery. I have a fantastic fan which uses most of the power if it's hot. I don't use the lights much, but sometimes I'll recharge my cellphone or tablet from the trailer, so this should keep my battery near full all the time!

I just read the build journal for the wanderlust.

I was supposed to start my build today but Mother Nature had other plans. So I've been browsing the build journals here to pass the time.

I'm very impressed with your build. The graphics really make it look great. The new door is awesome! Mind if I ask where you got it?

Mitch, thanks for the compliments. I bought the door on ebay. It was very pricey at 240.00 but I'm using the trailer enough to justify it in my eyes.

Paul with all the issues I had building my own doors I would buy doors next time. Gets some nice ones from Vintage tech. See ya later this week

Your build has some features that mine is going to have. Thanks for having a great picture album.

What type of body filler did you use for this build? Also what was it that you coated the underbody with? Very well made travel trailer. Just browsed through the whole thread. How has your acrylic enamel finish been holding up?

Honestly I don't remember what brand body filler I used. I just grabbed a damaged can from our defect room and used that since it was free. Probably a U.S. Chemical or Fibreglass Evercoat filler (lightweight). The undercarraige was done with Evercoat 1348 aerosol undercoating, and the paint is holding up fantastic. My only error was not taping the joints with fiberglass tape before the polyester resin was applied.

I am very happy with how it's holding up.

Has omitting the fiberglass tape over joints had some type of ill effect?

On the corners or edges, I see not ill effect at all, but in the center of the roof, where two flat panels butt up against each other, a hairline crack appeared. I see no indication that water was getting in, but I covered the entire roof in a flexible "chip guard" anyway, and then painted over that as it was not UV resistant.

Thanks for the compliment!

You might be interested in the fact that I plan on selling this trailer this spring. I recently gained a grandson, so I purchased a trailer that's a bit bigger so that my son and grandson can camp with me.
