Don't worry if it's not entirely done, as long as you can camp in it!

Doug: Thanks! I guess that was rude of me not leaving my name -- I'm sorry about that. (Oh, and my wife's name is Pam.)

Thanks for the info! We'll keep all that in mind. At this point I'm just not sure if we can do Friday as well. We'll see how things progress.

Hi Pat: Thanks, likewise! According to the map, it looks like our sites are next to each other.

It's "campable" right now (I spent a night in the garage in it once 8) , before wrapping it up for winter, and a nap or two beforehand). I just need to finish that hatch before it can head down the road.

Not worn out yet, I think there is a callous forming though.

Bob any more thoughts about movies?? Tell us what is necessary to get this working.

How soon should we start a thread about what we are planning to bring?

Looks like Betsey started the potluck list about a month ahead last time. Sounds about right--there may be additions and subtractions in the next month or so!

cooler by the lake V

Postby flygal6 » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:57 pm

Hey Everyone......I'm in for another annual trip to cooler by the lake. I missed everyone last year. Hopefully I will be there with a new used trailer. In process of trying to obtain a used teardrop on steroids---you know those R-pod things. Have to pick it up in Pittsburgh, but the deal is too sweet to pass up. One way or another I will bring something to sleep in. Bringing a relative new to the whole teardrop thing and also the gatherings. I am sure we all will have a blast. Looking forward to Pigcookers Sun brunch affair and of course the pot luck and maybe some good beverages too! :R Can't wait to see everyone. Have we started the countdown yet?
Oh, almost forgot I got site 11. There will be 3 of us +Brutus

End of April is gonna be real tight as to whether our "Little Tow" is going to be ready to go! We visited "Cooler Near the Lake" and talked to a few people a couple years ago when I was researching our build. We definitely want to get there but I just don't know if it's going to be "campable" by end of April.

Right now it's pretty far along, but there are no doors or rear hatch. I'm not sure it's gonna be ready by CNTL V.

My folks live in Sheboygan. For this year we may have to come stay at their house for that weekend and just come out for the day to meet people. We'll see.

If March warms up a bit so I can get out and work on "Little Tow", maybe this will come around. But I think it could be tough getting it ready by then.

For anyone interested, you can see the progress of it here:
http://webpages.charter.net/outtahand/littletow/index.htm

I didn't see a campground map in the thread anywhere. Does anyone have one marked up as to who is where, etc. that can be posted?

OuttaHand,
I remember meeting you a few years back, thought we'd never see you again.
Come out for the day like you did before. There is a list of who is where, on the last post of page 3. You will have to go to the campground map on the DNR website, to see the sites we will occupy.
Looks like its coming along just fine, fire up a small heater and Git R Done!!

See ya soon by the lake. Doug

Come on you can make it. You seem to be real close. The doors and the hatch are the easy parts.......right? Some times you just need a deadline to get it done. We would love to Cristen a new teardrop at Cooler. Either way we would love to have you!

Movies, what are my thoughts on movies? Well, first my projector is just a cheep one and picture is just OK. So that said, my first thought was does anyone have some old home movies of travel or camping? The projector will play anything with AV outputs, DVD player, IPOD, IPAD, you know, that sort of thing. I dont have a DVD player so some one will need to bring one.
