I've got some friends that have spot 30 reserved: Christie and Chuck. They are not teardroppers (pop-up) but they do use Dutch ovens and will fit into the group just fine

Just caught that gator reference.
This one was found a couple of miles away from the campground as the crow flies.

Maybe we can grab a couple more!

I made a map for us.

I decided to check out Elk City today and stop by JRR on the way home. I had actually been to Elk City before and it's alright, nothing special though.

Since we've taken up a lot of the campground at JRR I wanted to see if there were other sites that we could use if someone wanted to join us. Sites 5 thru 10 will actually be pretty close because there is a foot bridge next to #7.

This is the the area.

Site 7 with the bridge in the background.

Sites 6 and 7 are cozy. Basically the same drive.

And since Beto Junction is right there.

Hope everyone is doing good and staying warm.

Alright! Beto Skillet: hashbrowns, sausage patties, three eggs (hard?), cream gravy with a biscuit? Gotta have something to sop up the gravy right. I've never been to this place before, I swear.
:D

I had heard from a friend that a lot of damage was done at Elk City from the flooding a couple of years ago and that it hadn't gotten repaired. Some campgrounds were closed because of it.
Did you see any signs of that Darren?

That would explain why the park at Elk City was so rough. As I remember 2 years ago I visited there and noticed a lot of washed out areas. Lots of people living out there now also.

Over easy with sausage gravy. :D

I'll find out if there are any first come sites, I'm pretty sure there are.

If anyone can't make it please let me know and don't cancel your reservation. We might have someone to take it from you and you'll get the full amount you paid back.

Thanks,
