Well folks, it looks like a no go for us. We have a wedding to attend that we just can't miss.

I couldn't convince them to change the date!

Have a great time, we'll catch up with you another time.

Woodbutcher has arranged the site, and we will be paying him when we get there. It's really inexpensive. I don't remember the exact amount. I'm sure he will chime in.

Our plans are to leave home Friday, Aug 10. We want to enter Yellowstone via Beartooth Pass from Montana on Monday. Spend MTW at Bridge Bay CG. Arrive Thursday at the gathering. Be back home Wednesday, Aug 23 via the Black Hills area.

I'm planning on leaving NJ on the 11th, and hopefully be in Cheyenne on the 13th if I can handle three 10 hour days of driving. I very likely will be in Pinedale a day or two before the official gathering so will be there to greet everyone that arrives on Thursday. Like Woodbutcher, I am heading out Sunday and will stop in the Tetons and splurge on a campground with showers. I also have reservations at Bridge Bay, but only Monday night and Tuesday night, as I have a lot of stops planned on my drive home.

Has anyone heard of the Yellowstone Photo Safari. It leaves from Yellowstone Hotel at 5:45 am and is back by noon. Takes you to the falls (Grand Canyon of Yellowstone) amongst other places. I'm wondering if it might be worth having someone else do the driving?

Going thru Michigan Upper Peninsula & SD Black Hills on the way, planning to arrive Thurs afternoon. After the gathering I am headed to Grand Tetons for one nite & then Yellowstone (Grant Village) with friends from VA meeting me @ Tetons.
am not a very experienced camper but will have some more practice beforei I get there!

The cost per trailer for the 3 nights is about 5 bucks a trailer based on how many we have now. That is 5 bucks total. A super bargain.

Mike, great job on the pictures and travel details. I think the camp site looks fantastic! I will call the Ranger Station on Monday and check about the burn ban. It does not look that dry there, so maybe we will be able to Dutch oven cook after all.

Kevon and Sandy, I am sorry you will not be joining us. We will miss you! If the couple runs off and elopes you are still welcome to join us last minute.

Oh, one other thing, The last time I talked to the Ranger they said there is a camp host at both the group site and the regular CG. So someone should be at the CG all the time we are there. Since we have the entire site I would like to ask the hosts to join us for meals if they would like. Tear droppers are the most welcoming group I have ever met. If no one objects I would like to include the hosts. We always have to much to eat anyway!!!

We plan on leaving Mpls/St Paul on Friday too. 1st night we'll stay at Theodore Roosevelt NP in ND, 2nd Night at the bottom of the Bear Tooth outside Red Lodge, MT. Sun night either at Slough Creek or Pebble Creek or else in a NF campground outside Cooke City, MT. Mon & Tues reservations at Canyon Campground in YNP, then 2 nights at Gros Ventre Campground in Teton NP. We'll pull into WTW on Friday. I'll be with my daughter Nikki.

Tell me what you think of the design, and the idea.

Mike and Steve get their shirts for free as my way of saying Thanks!

Thanks for posting when you guys are planing to arrive and where you are going. We will know if someone is missing and we need to send out a posse! Also some may want to join up at other locations before or after the gathering. Monday I will check with the Ranger and ask again about the camp host and the fire ban. Then we can decide how to handle meals. Mike and I wish everyone a safe trip and we will see ya soon.
