I know I will Slow, I've been to Jackson twice already, in 1967 and 1978. I'm sure the same antlers are still in the middle of the town.

My whole trip out west will be a photo safari. I've scoured the internet and Google Earth to find some must visit locations to see in the area. Like Slow says the Freemont Lakes area looks very promising. There is a drive there called Skyline Drive that gives great views overlooking the lake plus distant views of the Winds!

Another must see location is Green River Lakes at the very end of the road past New Fork Lakes. Said to be the 3rd most photographed lake in Wyoming. I intend to get lost in the area on Saturday.

Oil change day, and hopefully finish installing the transmission cooler before the heat gets to bad. I've got most everything organized for the trip, and spread out across my kitchen and living room

Hope you had a great Bday Mike. Good advise on the weather. It's hard to think about frost when the temps are 90-100 most everyday. I have not worn socks or long pants for months. It will be hard to put them on. I guess I better get the warm stuff out while it is fresh on my mind. It's not like you can just run to town for warm clothes.

I'm getting down to the nitty gritty now! Changed my oil this morning, installed a trans cooler, heck, I might even wash my car! It's a humid 90 degrees here today, and I'm sweating like crazy just walking around outside. I'm looking forward to those chilly nights Slow!! I'll be sure to pack my electric blanket (12v) and extra sweatshirts, blankets, and my wool socks!.

To help offset the cost of gas for this 4000 mile trip, I'll be bringing along, besides t-shirts, some coffee mugs and mouse pads if anyone is interested. Mouse pads with the Walk the Winds logo and a photo of the Wyoming mountains will be 4.00 and coffee mugs with just the logo will be 5.00. I have everyone's t-shirts done that have pre-ordered, and I'll be bringing some extras too, so you can change colors if there is something you like better than what I have set aside for you. Pictures of mugs and mouse pads to be posted tonight.

I can't wait to meet everyone, and to enjoy the beautiful Wyoming scenery again!

Paul, those look great. You should be able to move a few of those.

Slow, you will be fine by Thursday. Remember back when you were a kid and you were sick as a dog all week but somehow you always felt better on Saturday when there was no school!

I know its early but I am thinking some guys like parnold coming from jersy stand a chance of hitting the road pretty soon to be here in time for walk the winds.

how many much drive time do you have parnold to get here from the east coast?

slow

2055 Miles, 34 Hours drive time.

I'm hoping to hit Indiana Saturday night, Nebraska Sunday night, and Cheyenne mid afternoon on Monday. It looks like I'll be meeting up with Steve and Joe Tuesday in Cheyenne, and the three of us will head to Firehole Canyon Campground before we hit Pinedale.

I'm planning on three pretty long days of driving, and then a much slower pace once I'm out there.

Just saw this on Facebook from Wyoming Tourism. I'll be headed this way after I leave Yellowstone Wednesday. Nothing like a scenic route!

Slocowboy, we are definitely still coming (Martin and Liz and our cattle dog Shaila.) Our teardrop is an all--wood homebuilt (not by us) on a 5' frame. We call her "bubbles."

Is there anything more we need to do to "register?" I think I have the directions but we are at a group campsite, correct? Do you need me to PM you our full names/cell number/etc?

We are looking forward to meeting all of you and also checking out your teardrops and small trailers! We need to get ideas of how to fix up Bubbles!

We will be there on Friday evening.

See you then!

BTW, we want to do some fly fishing, I presume we can get a license in Pinedale? And is the fishing on Fremont lake pretty good? I probably won't catch anything but my wife will likely hook a couple of big trout, she always seems to! :D
