Hey, Woody has a great idea for Saturday dinner.

Our pavilion at Loyd Park has a huge grill. Why not cook up a bunch of steaks (and/or chicken, if needed) and have people bring sides for Pot Luck.

We could have everyone pitch in a little cash, and buy a large quantity of meat, and a few of us who love to grill can cook it all up.

What do you guys think?

I think that's a mighty fine pic of your car and your teardrop in your signature!

I will be glad to join in on that, sounds good to me. I'll be part of the "meat bringer/pitcher-inner" people!

It will be my 1 year anniversary camping trip! :Flippin Burger:

I think it sounds great  . We could fry up french fries and tater tots and have a meat fest. Let's make it happen.

Count me in too. I'll be happy to provide cash or protein along with a side dish or two.

Thomas, has it been a year since I first saw your TD at Loyd Park? Time flies. I'm hopeful it will be our first camping trip with our TD.

I am going to try and have my build campable by then, but I don't know...
If I get it done, I would like to join in the fun.

What do some of you who grille steaks use to tenderie your meat? Caseydog, seems like you mentioned that you used wine to tenderize the stew meat. Do you use that for your steaks...(clarification) on your steak?

I'm not a big steak griller, but I bought a couple of them today and I want to grille them this weekend.

If you start with good steak, and cook it right, there is no need to tenderize it. I sprinkle Kosher salt and black pepper on my steaks before grilling. That's it.

I personally favor Ribeye, as do most steak obsessed people. Then, cook it fast over high heat, and do not DARE turn it with a fork. Tenderloin is tender, but lacks flavor. Sirloin has good flavor, but is generally not tender -- unless you marinate it till it doesn't taste like steak anymore.

I love steak, and can't afford to eat at good steak houses (and Outback is NOT a good steakhouse). So, I learned how to cook it myself the way the real pros (who do NOT work at Outback) cook steak.

But, most of all, the old computer saying, "garbage in, garbage out" also applies to steak. Buy smart, eat well.

CD

PS: Did I mention that Outback has the worst steaks I have ever eaten?
