what about getting the address to the hospital or the hospice organization? That way it is a public address for the cards?

Thank you everyone. Since getting home, it seems like Donna is getting a little better. I am able to cook things here that she likes, so she is at least eating a little, more than can be said for the hospital food. She is sleeping well and seems to be gaining a little strength.
I really think that the oncologist caused this episode by not giving the last dose of chemo as it was prescribed by the Drs. at MD Anderson. They had prescribed it to be done by infusion pump over a 72 hour period and he gave it to her in 3 hours! If she is able to continue to improve, maybe she can get back to treatment.
After re-reading Cindy's post about the cards and "$omething", please don't add any donations. I know that most folks aren't in any better shape than we are during these hard economic times. We have been blessed by a "godsend" by way of a small cancer insurance policy that Donna has been paying for years. It has paid enough so far that I can actually take the time off to stay with her and take care of her as she needs.
Donna is still talking about the good time she had at LCG last year and still holds hope to be there again this year. It would be so good to see all of our teardrop friends again. Thanks again, Jeff & Donna.

:worship: What an absolute blessing to have that policy! We were sure glad to have insurance but it wasn't that good.

Mike reminded me to tell you to look up Essiac Tea. It gave his Dad 5 years they were sure he didn't have. Dr. aren't always right and none of us comes with an expiration date. Please tell Donna to not give up.

Jeff and Donna
I hesitate in mentioning this to you, but in regards to alternatives. We
have a friend that is into alternative things. He has cancer and he has
been taking Immunecal and it has been doing him some good . It dropped his PSA numbers. He said something about lowering his blood
sugar and he had a rash on his head that has went away. I don't know any-
thing about it. I am just telling you what he said. he said it is like a BC
headache powder That you mix in water. He said he had to get it through a doctor. I am not sure I spelled it right( Immunecal). Maybe you could do a search on the internet and get some information. Congratulations
on you and Donna's Marriage. God Bless you both.

I did a search. I went with the word spelled the way I put it in the post.
It came up with spelled as Immunocal.

A Dr. told my neighbor that she would be blind in 6 months. Gene was telling his eye Dr. about it and the Dr. got very upset saying, "Who does he think he is, GOD?." He was very upset that a Dr. would make a statement like that. He was right, she is still doing fine but of course she was very upset all that time and that has been about 2 years ago. What I am getting at is no one here on earth really knows what is next. We are all praying for Donna and there is power in prayer. Give her a big hug for us.

This sounds like a variation of the alternative treatment we have been looking at, I just fear she is too weak for it at this time. It starts with a Ketogenic diet, then add diabetic drugs to lower blood sugar to starve the tumors (because they feed from blood glucose) The Immunocal is a supplement used for nutrition during this diet. There are many variations of this treatment, some which add other glucose alternatives to attack the cancer too. We have researched so many treatments that it is hard to pick out one from the bunch.

Wedding Shower

Postby Cindy » Wed Jul 22, 2009 6:53 am

Jeff and Donna,
Anything that might be included in a card is a wedding present and not a donation. It is just really hard to put a silver tray in a card. And who wants a stupid silver tray anyway?

Becca, Donna seems to be doing good, at least holding her own. The tumor on her sciatic nerve seems to be growing again and causing her some more severe pain. The pain meds don't seem to help much, but enough of them will make you not care. Seeing her in such pain hurts me deeply, knowing there is nothing I can do to stop it.
I am holding on, trying to work, but I can't leave her for long. Jeff

How many peach pits did you eat a day, and did you eat the peaches too, or just the pits?
