The only thing fit to tow anything according to American car dealerships is a Suburban or full-sized super-duty pickup. While, everywhere else in the world, people tow with subcompacts. In Europe, I bet a vehicle like the Element is rated to tow 3,000 pounds.

Element is rated for 1500 lbs.

I towed my TD with a 2008 Civic (tow cap. 1000 lbs) with no troubles from BC to CA. No brakes on the trailer but I load the car to capacity with as little in the trailer as possible while on the highway or through large cities with lots of traffic. I always follow the rule that the trailer should never be heavier than 50% of the tow vehicle unless it has brakes.

Is your 5 wide still up for grabs? I am in Iowa and might be interested.

"I" have a 2005 4wide Little Guy that I have customized and it weighs about 785lbs dry..I figure I put about100-150lbs IN the TD and carry about another 125-200lbs in my car.

Oh...the car...a 1965 VW BUG ! The car weighs about 2100lbs..dry..but I have been ALL OVER Ca.,Az.,Nev. with the trailer in tow and NEVER one prolen !

Blanket

Postby Wild Bill » Tue Jan 25, 2011 9:57 am

I seem to remember seeing those blankets at either a Cabelas or Bass Pro shop, or maybe Gander Mtn stores. In the cabin furnishing areas.
Might want to check out their web sites. Bill

Wild Bill,

I checked all three sites, and while they do have blankets with bear themes, none have one close to what 2Kirks shows in his teardrop.

Thanks for trying though.
