I just listed this. Put $11,000 in it, and WHAM along comes a beautiful granddaughter and we decided we need something bigger for the family. I sure had fun building this baby.

A lot of people laugh or moan and roll their eyes about teardrop trailers yet there are a lot of people who like them, too. I mention this because there is a positive and negative to everything. Your trailer isn't a true teardrop but it has a bathroom and you can stand up to change your clothes, etc.

If one person wanted it (and built it), another person will want it too. After all, it only takes one right person to fall in love with it and buy it. You'll find that right person.

Just one 'downer' thing: In this tough economy, you will probably have to come down some on the price. You may even have to sell for a little less than you paid for it. Such is the market these days. But, the "wait and see" attitude is good. One never knows what will come.

I gotta say, when I first read about the Towster a while back, I loved the concept, but couldn't fathom a camper that had no place to sleep.

If you find just the right person, I'm sure you'll sell it. It seems well built. But, in fairness to Gage (whom I've butted heads with in the past), it's not likely to have "mass appeal" in the camper marketplace. It may take a while to find that niche buyer.

And, may I suggest your next camper be a "four slice" Towster, so you have room for a bed.

Well if you were offended by my statement, I'm sorry but just laying it out the way I see it. I did say good luck with the sale and I meant it. Your market is going to be real small. And if you had been a little more active on the board, you would have known I've been back for quite some time now. I can see you put a lot of work into your trailer but if it doesn't sale you might consider converting it to a cargo trailer.

All good points. This wasn't designed to sleep in it. It really wasn't built to sell, but oh how I regret not putting sleeping quarters in it now that we have decided to part with it.

A little background might make this story a little more interesting. My folks passed away a couple of years ago. My dad always wanted to buy a camping trailer, but because my mom wasn't in to it he held off. I remember he'd always be down at the local VW dealer on Sunday afternoons looking at the camper buses, just salivating over them. Even though he had the money, he never would buy a camper. Must have been the Scot in his blood.

Well, for some reason, after he died last year I decided I was going to build a camper, sort of in his honor. My wife and I were already setup with sleeping arrangements in our Honda Element, so from that was born the Towster.

I slaved over all the details, read the forum end to end, spent countless hours working on it step by step, and as it got close to the finish I realized that I was building this trailer as a way of getting through the grief of losing my parents. That's probably not the best situation for making decisions. From a small idea came this all consuming project. But, what's done is done. I'm glad I had the experience of creating a fun project that my dad would be proud of. Isn't that worth something?

If we don't sell it I'll modify it somehow to better accomodate sleeping quarters.

$9,000 is not what I expect to get out of it. I just tossed that out there. I'd be happy with much less.

Yeah, I think you're right Miriam, perhaps some serious tailgaters. It's got a reserve of $8500 on eBay, but I'd be happy with $6500.

That tailgater angle could be your ticket.. I would modify your ebay add to mention tailgating. It couldn't hurt, and when you consider what some of the people are paying for season tickets.. it's not that far of a stretch!

My wife and I were already setup with sleeping arrangements in our Honda Element, so from that was born the Towster.

Now that I understand the design criteria, the Towster makes a lot of sense. When I first looked at it, I wondered how tall a cook that kitchen could accomodate?
