Here's a 10" teardrop. Inside height is 5' 7" with a dropped floor. Fits in a garage.
Uses a portapotty, no inside kitchen to speak of but it'll have microwave, coffee, and toaster oven.
Still being built .... (shameless plug for me)

Here is the garage-able stand up thread for this little beauty:

The black rectangular strip that you see immediately under the door is the pan for the dropped floor.

Doris, are you planning to have brakes on your trailer? If not, how big you can build may be limited by state laws and/or your tow vehicle's braking capacity.
(Note: Braking capacity is not the same as towing capacity).

Sharon,
Good point about the brakes. Most trailers that I have been looking at that are 7 x12 come with brakes because it's larger.

I was looking at the Maxitear. I love the layout with the kitchen in the middle of the tear. That's a brilliant design and I didn't think of it.

A few weeks ago I looked at a T@B and they wanted $17,000 bucks for it, way to much money. If I had that kind of money I would buy a Camp-Inn raindrop. Raindrop is not a standy but has more room than my 4 x 8.

That 1935 AirStream looks huge in the pictures. I love that rounded front.

Mary C,

I'm afraid to build a foamie with canvas and paint cover. Seems to me it would leak. Anyone out there build a standy foamie? Does it leak? LOL. :?

Thank you BobHenry.

Slow, I want to travel for several weeks at a time and go long distances so I want to have a tear that is big enough to change in and able to have a place for a porti potty. My tear is 4 x 8, not quite big enough for all that.

No one who has built a Foamie (including me) have had any leak issues. In fact, that's one of the big reasons for doing one. If anyone did have a leak, you wouldn't need to worry about wood rot. There are some standies in the build phase and there aren't any issues that I'm aware of. My foamie has an overall body length of over 12 feet and is almost 8 feet wide. I didn't do the standy because it would never make it out of my garage door. That said it is over 6 feet tall. I wouldn't hesitate to build in foam again. In fact, my next project (thinking and design phase currently) will be a foamie fifth wheel. Go to the Foamie forum and check it out.
