Any idea what the weight would be on a Lightweight New Club?

It depends in how lightly you built it. Trailer weights depend much more on how heavily each piece is made than on what the overall shape and size is. If you want a light trailer, you have to build each piece as light as it can be, even if that means more work than building it heavy. If you concentrate on building light, getting under 600 pounds should be easy. And if you really trim everything? Well, the Pico-Light goes as low as 280 pounds, so 400 pounds for the longer Cub sounds achievable.

The weight of an original Cub/Modernistic was just over 400#, so with care, building an ultralight version should get you under that by a little bit. A lot of commercially-built MC camping trailers weigh in at 500# or more, way more than I would be comfortable pulling (even if I still rode)! My bigger concern, though (after weight) is seeing around the trailer ... that's why most MC trailers are no more than 42" wide (36" is actually preferred), or their overall height is below mirror level. Please be safe out there!

I'm going to be selling my Kamperoo after I sew in the new zipper for the door. Its a few years old but still in great shape. Lots of two wheelers like these because they are light. The weight is about 700# although I've never had mine across a scale. I'm in Austin but I could deliver it.

Rip Van Winkle was built on an all aluminum Apache tent trailer frame.

I did drag out the scales and got the final weight of 525 pounds with bed and bedding installed. Tongue weight at level was 65 pounds. Thats a little over 12% tongue weight over total weight. He was built to be towed by my Goldwing !
