Another use for the trailer

Postby jss06 » Mon Dec 17, 2012 9:04 pm

2 weeks ago I had been up for 27 hours and had worked for 18 of those. It was the day our maid service cleans. I was dreading having to stay up a few more hours while they did their work.

The I remembered there was a ready made bedroom in the garage. Crawled in, turned on the vent fan and slept for 5 hours. When I woke up the house was clean and I never heard the cleaning crew.

Although this year will be an exception, I normally play host to my two sisters and their kids over the holidays. That's way too many days in a row, starting before Christmas and ending after New Years. It's way too many people in way too small of a space and my younger sister is way too loud to begin with. I too had planned on evacuating my house and holing up in the trailer in the garage. Glad to know that won't be necessary this year. Also glad to know that it will always be there if I need a hideaway. 8) 8)

I won't apologize for having a maid service. I don't want to do it and it keeps the wife happy. :D

all the health issues one aquires a long the way.

I have a gal who comes in every four weeks to do the floors and bathrooms - indispensable! Unfortunately, I forgot that this was her week - the house is lined up with all the junk from the camper that I'm cleaning out, plus all the Christmas presents I have yet to wrap! Glad I wasn't here to see her face when she walked in and found that she had access to only about 1/2 the floor space to clean!

I really need to re-retire one of these days.

Recently, I drove from So Calif to Flagstaff, AZ with the TD to help my sister in law move out of her 5th wheel and into a comfortable senior comunity. I took the mattress out of the tear and slept on it, for a week in her new living room. We then used the empty TD to haul a bunch of boxes from her old place to the new one. It sure made good use of the tear, as a sleeper and a utility trailer. My wife's twin sister was quoted as saying, "Roly's sleeping in here on the floor, and I don't care what the neighbors say". Hey, let the neighbors talk, she makes a great ham and eggs breakfast, with toast and coffee! Besides, us 80 year olds just can't get in too much trouble that's worth talking about.
8) :?  Roly, using the little TD in any way I can.... ~~

On that note, I will heartily recommend my current read: The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared - a book that's both intelligent and enjoyably readable, which isn't that common a combination.

I only turn 60 this year, but after 20 miles on my bike this morning, It feels a lot more.....
