You need to tell where you got the idea and details, and what if any modifications.
I needed poles for our rear tarp and if you have looked for adjustable tent poles you know they are usually steel and heavy and do not work all that well. At CAG four plus years ago I saw some nice red adjustable poles attached to a nice home made awning on a tear pulled by a red VW bug. When asked about them it turned out they were adjustable painter pole extensions with a bolt stuck in the end.
Extension poles are available in various lengths and materials and I drilled and threaded the end and screwed in SS bolts and cuts the heads off. Works really well.
