It's Christmas Eve here, about 11 am. The summer solstice was on Friday, now the days will grow progressively shorter, but still 2 months of summer left to enjoy.
Forecast for Christmas Day is for a beautiful 23C/73F.
Perfect.
Spending the day preparing. There's potato salad, cheesecake and fudge to be made, corned beef to be cooked, last minute floor sweeping, etc.
My contact up in the desert country dropped off some camel back strap on Thursday, so I've cut it into medallions and packed it for the freezer this morning.
I reserved about a pound and half of diced meat from the small end of the strap - I see an experimental green chili dish on the winter horizon.
Beautiful meat.

Got room at the table for more? Lol. It’ll be a few days!

Ha Ha, it would not be the first time a stray traveller graced our table at Christmas.
It's a thing - the door is open to any of our friends and acquaintances who have no plan for lunch.

Its the second of January here. Took off for a quiet night under the stars last night.
Had a can of Stagg Chili and Beans for dinner. Made in USA. Not very chilified, wouldn't call it very spicy at all, but flavour and texture pretty darned good.
Made in USA. Just don't tell the Texans it had beans in it.
Two glasses of red wine and sleep came easy.
Went fishing in the morning, stopped at a country pub for a coke on the way home.

When I turn my laptop 90 degrees, it looks like a fry pan hanging in a garbage can.
But that could be my imagination.
What's it all about and how does it relate to soda?

I believe I have that exact same battery charger. Mine has 2 switches- either 6 or 12 VDC and either 2 or 10 amps. I've had it for around 30 years.
