I'm sorry, but I just have to be truthful, since I spend very little time within my cabin, except when the sun goes down, and this seems like the most important item as I continue to get older. It sure beats going outside in the cold of night.

Hi Roly
As I have said more than once here on the Forum.
I can't wait to meet you..........you are the funniest guy on this Forum!
Oh, and maybe you should leave that other jar marked "coffee" at home when going camping???

You could always put one of those door eye viewers into the doors. No power needed.

Favorite? ... well if you don't have either curtains or blinds on your windows you will soon wish you had them.

I also added cupholders and LED lighting as well as a 12 volt battery monitor (so as not to overly drain my battery)

no curtains and no blinds on my window to mother nature....

The see thru roof is still my favorite. Whether its an electrical storm or watching hugh snowflakes explode as they land or just the swaying of the trees and the twinkle of the stars it's still the best feature.

This is the unit I have.

It claims to be very accurate (I have no reason to doubt that claim) and you can set an alarm voltage to let you know when the battery is too low. One thing .. it does have a backlight (which I find convienent, but other may want to sleep in complete darkness)

The only way to accurately gauge the battery is to measure what goes in what comes out I went with the Victron battery monitor which will give you a % of discharge.

Yes, I agree, that is a better way .. it is also a more expensive way. A voltage monitor is MUCH better than nothing at all.

And, since we are talking about batteries ... how you treat your battery when you are not camping also matters. Just letting it sit in the trailer for weeks is not good. Putting it on a float charge device (like the Battery Tender Junior) is reccomended. I don't have a garage to store my TD (I keep it in the driveway) so I charge it once a week (rather than keeping a 110 volt cord out in the driveway 24 hrs / 7 days a week) with a "smart" charger, and run a "equalize" charge maybe once a month.

If I were more ambitious I would remove the battery when I get home from a trip and put it inside the house on my Battery Tender Junior (where it is right now for the off season)

So I guess I would also recommend the Battery Tender Junior as a "favorite" feature to have ;-)

My favorite feature is the new LED projector I just added for watching movies. I have a hard drive in the trailer with several hundred movies to pick from.

Its a Benq Joybee II, draws around 4 amps at 12V so I can use it when dry camping. Wiring is a little ugly but they didn't have anything out like this when I built the trailer so it's a complete after thought.

I made a screen using a roller shade and window black out material. It just snaps on overt the door so I can roll it up and take it down in a few seconds.

Image

The picture is great, even at 60". I plan to show movies on the side of the trailer during the summer.

Image

It does need to be pretty dark for a good picture so we'll only be using this at night.

Let the "You don't need that" technophobe posts begin!

P.S. I monitor the battery usage with a Trimetric RV-2025, its the one on the right. I like the LED display, versus LCD. Its much easier for me to see at a glance and at any angle or brightness.

Do you have a link to where you got it as the only ones that I found were for an Iphone

It does have an iPhone dock but it doesn't work with my iPhone 4s. I got mine on sale from New Egg but its not on sale now.
