It works for me!.... and I'm sure it will for you too! A good walk around and double check like you did, your hitch would not have caught your eye or jumped out and bit you...but it will now before you even get hitched up. I'm all for anything that's simple and prevents accidents. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

You were very lucky as others have pointed out.

I've had a couple occasions where when I got to my destination, I found that I forgot the security pin on the coupler, and it had popped up. So the tongue weight was all that was holding it to the ball. Now I make the habit of always returning the pin to the holes, whether up or down, and not just setting the pin on the tongue, the ground or whatever.

I am curious though, did you not have a lot of "noise" during your trip. Like clunking, screeching, etc. I'd suspect if your chains were all that were holding it in, you'd have had a lot of bumping and banging.
