I set the center section in just to see how it looked. It fit fine and covered up that gap Little Guy left between the counter and end of the trailer.
Then I tried to close the hatch ... I discoverd that the latches on the hatch go into that gap I had just covered up!
I haven't done anything that's not reversable yet. I guess I'll go back to the drawing board.

Your idea of the 3/4 plywood replacement and extending it back to fill the gap sounds great. Will you put an additional support under the shelf at the rear of the trailer? Maybe then the square aluminum tube would not be needed. What do you think? Will there still be a gap on the sides with the original fixed part of the shelf, or do you plan to replace that also?
We do like being able to lift the shelf to make up the foot of the bed. We have begun folding the mattress in thirds and pushing it back to load heavy items into the cabin through the doors.
I have been concentrating on electrical upgrades and my album shows some photos of those. But now it is time to sort out the galley. So far we have been mostly cooking at the picnic table or a folding table we sometimes carry. The galley mostly just holds a microwave oven, although we transport it in the cabin afraid the shelf will not sustain the weight.![]()
We love camping with the LG but would like to improve the galley.
