It looks like that Coleman Coastline 8 Deluxe tent is available only in Europe, not in the US. But that sure is a nice setup.

my tear is 1,5m it is ~5ft wide
full tent lenght is 6,7m its then ~22ft long

then all together is 8,2m ~27ft

tent is 2,9m wide and teardrop is 3m long ~10ft

that means i take 3x8,2=24,6m2 or 10x27=270 sqft land only under my set
if i open galley and need some space around that then ....

yeah that is lot of room - more that most our (europe) RV-s

I use a small 4' x 4' "easy up style" cabana tent. Fairly compact, easy to install, held on by 4 straps that snap to the side of our l'il camper.

But I do really like the one Gage has. Might have to make me one of them some day. :D

I can see why some would want a tent attached to there trailer for convenience and more room, but the whole reason we decided to get a TD was to get away from setting up a tent. When we need privacy to change, shower or use chemical potty we use one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/380735880022?lpid=82. You basically throw it and it sets up. And when we are in the backcountry we just work on our tan.

I agree  that's exactly why we went that route as well, however, I'm 6'4" & 200#, kind of ruff to get dressed in bed for a week or two. Ours is easy set up and sits flat against our camper side so we can attach it. It would have been loooong gone when we went out west in the wind. We only put it up if we're going to be in one spot for more than a couple of days, which isn't very often  We prefer to "stick and move"

we won't camp without our side tents. that instant spring tent is short, my 5' 2" wife just fits comfortably, but I feel like I can't turn around inside and my head hits the roof at 5' 10". our side tents have more than enough space to change in, I think they just about double the "inside" space we have that is private.
unlike an easy up type tent, or one that has multiple poles, our tents set and stow quickly, and they have no "privacy gap" we sit/stand in the open tear door and get dressed. http://www.instructables.com/id/Quick-s ... ing-booth/
we keep the spring tent for the beach and canoe camping, for the tear it is about useless.

I love my side tent, I went teardrop as it was small and light enough for my car.
I fell in love with it for so many reasons one being flexibility. Tent or no tent, electric or no electric,
