Whitney, if your wife monitors this forum I think I would consider hiding anything in your house that might be capable of causing blunt force trauma.

heck yes! I find places with a pool or natural spring. Hillsborough River State Park has a huuuuuuuuuuge salt water pool and it was so refreshing yesterday. The campsites aren't very large or private but very shady for sure. They do have a walking trail where you can go see the rapids and a few other things but no place to put in a canoe that I know of.

I camp year round doesn't matter how hot or cold it is. But I do enjoy having options like swimming pool or canoe/kayaking or bike paths.

miss cajun lady I too have stayed at Hillsbourough river SP one of several in florida I enjoy.
I have been under the weather as they say, that and my laptop went poof we have been dealing with the hot spell as others have here in the midwest
already today they have heat advisiories out going to be a hot one another 100 degree day.

Pete, sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I hope everything will be okay. I know y'all are having a hard time with the drought - wish I would send the rains we are getting your way. We've gotten our fair share a lot lately.

Hillsborough River SP is nice but the biggest reason I enjoy going there is for the pool. I have a pool at home but there's nothing like a nice salt-water pool to cool off in when you are camping. So refreshing....

I hope you start to feel better soon Pete....good hearing from you. :)

Thank ya I do feel better than last week but still not100%.
my new toshiba (2 weeks old) was a pice of crap the other toshiba I had for 7 years worked much better
so I took new toshiba back and while I was trying to decide between a $500 and a $400 Dell the sales lady
marked the $500 down to $400 I now have a new $400 Dell I don't know why they marked it down but I would have
been mad if I went back in a couple of days and saw new lower price. I liked the matte finish on toshiba rather than the glossy Dell
and the rubber feet could be more sticky.
I had a pool years and years ago really nice in the summer but a lot of work for such a short season here in Ohio.
Maybe when you host a TD geathering we all can swim in the salt pool...............

Last weekend I was at the Element 11 burn in Utah. It was at a place called Seabase Utah. It is some salt water natural warm pools that now has tropical fish in them. Including several Angel Sharks. I guess they don't eat humans as they go scuba and snorkeling in the pools. There is also a mess of those Asian Pedicure fish in there so I sat for a bit with my bare feet in the water with swarms of fish nibbling on me.

That is about as close as this desert dog gets to swimming.

out in the garage desperately trying to finish my TD, talk about motivation, go make a reservation and let the wife know it is to make up for last year when our only real celebration was diner and one night away from the kids because we were moving. That trailer better be ready for two to camp in, not just for one to sleep in, still trying to figure what I will do for the rear door, as I made a hatch that only goes to counter top height, and I have a bunch of stuff on order that better get here in time.
This spring has been devoted to boat building, I finished my own mouseboat so it could be launched for Memorial day weekend, then had to paint all three mouseboats for our big canoe camping trip in the Adirondacks. Now they all need another good coat of paint to cover the scars from camping.
Since August of last year I am also a pastor as well as a full time airplane mechanic, still trying to sell my house in ME, and taking care of a church and an old house. Plumbing, wiring, carpentry, drywall, floor finishing, painting, not as much time for boat and trailer building as I would like.

So folks, for the answer to "Where is everyone?" this weekend, I'm gonna let you in on something. Poor Slowcowboy is going to do something that requires a lot of nerves. Please give him some encouragement. He's meeting the dreaded Parents this weekend. You know, where Mom is saying "When should I expect my first grandchild?" and Dad is saying "Where's the best spot to hide a body?" BBQ, hopefully a couple other people show up to help divert some of the attention so he can relax a bit.

Give Slow some tips, I don't want to lose him to The Fear of the Father. I'm a little hooked on the guy. Okay, really hooked. Love you babe.

Angie, we've been hoping and sending a few prayers up for quite a few years now for someone special to come into his life and it's finally happened...how cool!! He has sorta become the 'son' of a lot of us and now 'our' son has a gal - we couldn't be happier! Ok, now we need the scoop on how you and your cowboy met. And, since you are putting him through the wringer this weekend, we want photos! I'm sure he will do just fine (he will have you by his side to keep him relaxed).

Welcome to the family and I/we wish you and Mike the very, very best! :goodmorning:

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Mike, might I suggest Kevlar and Depends. Kevlar: if he does take a shot at you the bullet won't hurt you and Depends: you won't embarrass yourself if he does.

My Mother-in-law was the one askin' her "What are you doin' with THAT boy?" Father-in-law came to my defense and told her "How do you know that that's not the one we've been prayin' for?" (f-i-l was a good man, and we really miss him)

I'm the best thing that ever happened to my mother-in-law and she'll admit that I treat her better than her own son's did / do.

Father-in-law was part Cherokee and Blackfoot, we would always harrass me about bringin' him "wompum" for his daughter, kept wantin' a pony.
He was a good shot too. Could hit a metal T post from over 300 yds, but that didn't scare me, I, like yourself, had something in my eye. ;) :eyebrows:

Mike, just be yourself, don't drink, don't curse, and try not to snort when you laugh. They cain't eat ya'.

As my FIL told me once. Im not too impressed with you, I have a good shovel, 200 acres and I doubt anyone would miss you more than a week.

Your dad could bury him in many places in Wyoming and no one would ever find Slow.

Now the good part. Slow is a great guy and once he gets through the third degree he will be better for it. I never had the when are you kids going to produce me grandkids. Key to dads is the dad liking the new guy.

Re: Where is everyone?

Postby Angiewy » Tue Jul 24, 2012 1:54 pm

Ok, so some answers. This blessed man came into my life online. He will be teaching me this weekend how to post photos on here, while I teach him how to set his ringtone for texts to something that's simple and won't wake him up when I send him one after I get off work.

The grandkids thing...please understand, about a month before I met Slow, my mom asked my brother if he was gay because he never brings women home. He's been engaged once and is DEFINITELY NOT GAY. My brother's response? Its three hours (he works quite a bit in Cheyenne) and women charge $200/hour, he can't AFFORD to bring them home! A few weeks later I was reminding my mother that my dogs and cats are as close to grandkids as she should expect for a long time. That damn toddler's tricycle she won a few years back from Bomgaars thats sitting in the basement doesnt' help matters any.

BTW any one who cares to donate any hand shears, the old style sheep shears that look a lot like pruning shears, to Slow to give to my dad and help win him over are more than welcome to. Dad's got around 200 sets now and they are his weakness.

Keep it all coming. This is hilarious! Thanks for the laugh before I head to work.
