General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

You can't always refer to it as "The Trailer" so a name is appropriate.
Ours became "Miss Piggy" the night I clamped the nose in as a trial fit and walked to the other end of the shop for a look back.
The minute I turned around it was the first thing that popped into my mind!
Since then it has stuck.
By the way how is yours "........." coming?
We bolted the rear bumper on today and tested all of the lights.
Trunk lid tomorrow.

Mine is just a play on words. Mine is built with composite foam walls and I have a beer tap in the galley. Therefore "Road Foamie". Kinda like when we were much younger and dumber and left a party with a road foamie...  :o :o

My weekender's name evolved from the black and yellow color scheme. Everyone kept comparing it to a bee so we dubbed it the "Super Bee". The wife said it needed a graphic and I am a Dodge fan so a decal from Ebay made it official.

Everything we (once!) owned now seems to belong to our German Shepherd, Kody. For example, My chair is now "Kody's chair, the sofa is now "Kody's sofa, the 4x4 is now Kody's car. Our cheese is Kody's, the (our) bed is Kody's (??), the property is called Kody's Place. There are however, two very special things that Kody has and will never be denied her. One is Kody's corner; this is where she sits on the veranda and waits for me to come home. The other is Kody's window; this is where she sits and watches me as I drive the 400 meters to the front gate. Cindy told me that Kody sits at the window, it's an 8 foot sliding glass door, and she cries non stop as I leave. I guess the TD will be called "Kody's Cubby" or maybe it will simply be called, "Kody's". The love that our German Shepherd has for us is so intense but her love for me is indescribable, (yes, it's mutual also).

Mine is a factory-built camper. It's not original or unique so I don't see the utility in naming it. I will sometimes call it the Moto-Mate, because that's what its manufacturer will call it. I am hoping to start building a bigger rear-door reverse tear next spring, and may name it.

Hi Steve
Nothing has struck you yet??
Just don't call it "Zoe's......." or "The Dog House"
I did get an e-mail from you re: Facebook. But sorry! I am avoiding Facebook as I am already spending too much time on my computer than I should. So I purposely have avoided getting involved with facebook.
Xmas Camping??????
Sounds interesting......are you heading south or did you install a heater in your Tear?

This topic comes up now and again. I still maintain that Cliff in GA has come up with the best teardrop name ever. It is the very most classic "Gas Chamber". His wife would not let him use it , still it remains the best - thanks Cliff for the laughs over and over!

I have named mine SweeKin. It is named after my two cats Sweetie and Pumpkin. I plan on having a couple of decals made to put on the trailer. Then I'll see how long it takes before someone comes up to me and says they never heard of that brand before ;)

I was intrigued by the themes folks come up with, many humorous. I learned early on that peoples names are important to them and you need to get them right.
I tend to look for a meaning, purpose and symbolism in naming and the tradition of maps with a compass rose goes back beyond the 12th century in a form similar to the one you see to the right and probably go back thousands of years. The were some times called a wind rose.
A friend designed the compass rose and a local shop (Bad Brush Design) brought that to life.

I guess we lack imagination and originality, kinda like Effrim Zimbalist Jr.'s parents... We call our trailer "the camper".

Hopefully, I successfully made my avatar a picture of our car-go lite trailer. I call our CRV the "Marshmallow". I had played around with "Tangerine", "Orangalow", when a friend suggested "Sweet Potato". So now my Marshmallow pulls the Sweet Potato. :D

DoodleBug and I have no idea why. My husband named it, which is funny as he does not like camping and would never even try to get into my teardrop. But he calls it the DoodleBug

Wow, Woodbutcher! What beautiful teardrops! Did you build them all? Do you still own them all?

Thanks, yes, I did build them all with help from many people on this board. Best people/forum on the internet are right here. I do have them all, but 2 are going up for sale. I am out of room and can't make anymore unless I sell something!
