Source for clips to wall-mount my Maglight?

Postby Oregon Brew » Wed Feb 27, 2013 12:17 am

Hi -

Building a trailer for my daughter for her wedding present. I'd like to be able to clip a big Maglight flashlight to the wall right next to the door. Anyone have a source for such clips (if they exist) or have any clever ideas?

If you are thinking of the 4 D cell rechargable maglight they come with a very nice charging base that can be mounted to the wall. If you were looking for something else other than the large maglight, I would suggest the smaller streamlight rechargable LED that is also able to be mounted with a supplied base. Just a side note the good thing about the larger maglight is the secondary use as a handy little bat if the need arises.

What about broom handle clips. Would that be too small for a Maglite? They can be stretched somewhat.

Dale, those are for the mini-maglight. I have looked and have not found a similar product for my 4-D cell "cop style" Maglite.

Oregon Brew,
What a wonderful wedding gift! My daughters are 15 and 10, so that will buy us some time...

That link may have what you need. Not sure if it's for the mini or the large one.

Here's one that claims to be for the D cell. - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00002N9ER

Or you might be able to mod the belt loop holder? - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000056BMW

Thanks everyone! I thought my local hardware store might have one, but no luck. I finally checked ebay early this morning and found some before I read your responses. Since I have to buy the flashlight yet anyway, I might buy the one with the recharger and save the clips for me! Thanks again!

I use the quick fist mounts in my truck for D mag lights, shovel, etc.

They've been opened and closed a lot and are holding up well.

Here's some install information (not mine or my truck, just useful)

You could just use any tube mounted vertically as a simple holder for a maglite. ABS plastic comes to mind. The plus side is no pointy bits to hook a sleeve on.

I would use a hinge with a piece of... whatever you prefer, aluminum, wood, plastic. Cut your piece of material into a ring and attach your hinge then attach the other side of the hinge to the wall. When the Maglite is not in the ring it will fold down. You would be less likely to bump into it and break it or yourself. Just like the mop and broom holder stated above.

Quadratec has something that may work.

I have one of these for my jeep. Hold the mag light secure, and is good quality.

Oww!

You could buy two D cell maglite flashlights for the cost of a single bracket!
