T@G Teardrop

Postby cuyeda » Tue Nov 26, 2013 2:37 am

I thought for sure someone would have posted a few photos of the new Little Guy T@G teardrop. Sorry, If there are previous posts with photos. As seen at the Pomona, CA RV Show about a month ago. Show pre-order price was $11,200. Some here would say to expensive, some would buy it on site! This really made my head turn, and was thinking that I haven't built my TD yet, and was very tempting to place an order. It may take all the fun out of building a TD yourself, but really isn't the fun going camping. :-)

That's not bad looking. The only trouble is lack of storage....the galley is all sink and fridge...but it's a huge step forward from the first lil guy I saw years ago. Where the galley was just a shelf.

I love the color!

If I hadn't bought my Little Guy Silver Shadow in April, I would have one of these T@G's. I like the color combo of white with silver-- looks better to me . There's more headroom inside than the typical Little Guy teardrop. It definitely has a European style to it.

As I have mentioned in another thread, I love the looks of the T@G. It's the prefect size (5x9) - I would enjoy the extra headroom and as a bonus, the factory installed A/C. However, it does lack ample storage in the galley area. LG needs to work on that.

The T@G is starting to show up on RV Trader.

I'm with Verna, if I had not just purchased a LG 5 Wide in late October, I would have purchased a T@G.

I think the larger "T@g" is my ideal camper. Haven't seen one of these yet.

That is why I bought my Little Guy, and someday I may just decide to build one.

I really like the T@G. Yea, it would take some of the fun out of building. But you would still have the fun of customizing it...

But building isn't for everyone, Time, talent and ambition all have to be there. In the case of some of us, were missing one or more of those qualities. Buying may be the only real option unless we want to just talk about sawdust on the floor..

I spent a lot of time trying to start, let alone finish. In the end, buying my campinn was about the only way I was going to ever get out of the garage.

Look at yourself realistically. Will you build one? Or dream of it. Are you good at starting? But poor at finishing. Do you have the skills? Or only own a jigsaw.

Personally, I'd never get it done. And realistically, I don't have the space. No garage. No driveway. No yard. And an HOA that would forbid it anyway.

So BUY it!!

Yes, I have the tools...but I would have trouble finishing it. I know about that fault in my character, so I purchased. Hopefully I can get that cherry stool off my workbench this winter...completed!!! We will NOT discuss how long it's been there :-(. But, I have been enjoying camping in my Little Guy Silver Shadow!!

Its a case of each to their own. I'd rather not pay that much for a trailer. I would rather DIY. But I have the space, ability, time, tools and most importantly a patient wife to pull it off

I agree, I couldn't afford to lay out that much all at once but I desperatly wanted one. Fourunately I had the space, skills and tools to build mine, and a patient and understanding wife who thoroughly enjoys the camping part. :applause:

some will never get the idea of "I built it myself", some can't glue nail or screw two pieces of wood together to save their lives, and some don't have the time to build a tear.
I'm just glad to see more tears being sold, homebuilts never really change a market that much, compared to manufactured units, the more manufactured tears there are, the more people will discover the best way to camp. And more people with the skills to build will discover the best place to find almost everything you need to create a one of a kind tear.
It would be nice if the RV industry discovered a trend of people downsizing to tears and made more items targeted at the tiny end (heaters and a/c sized for what most of us need for one), of course if they start making tears with the same build quality as the current crop of RV's....
