We have a Coleman Power Chill iceless cooler. I think they are less than $100, I bought it off someone who won it in a raffle for $60.
It will sit upright or lay like a traditional cooler. It says it will cool down about 40 degrees below the outside temp - we froze water bottles during a desert trip, so much for that.... Works on 12VDC and 110VAC adapter comes with it. It cools very quickly.

Down side, the way the fan and electronics are open on the inside, you can't put ice in it. If it melts the water will short it out. It is a power hog - 2-3 amp dc - as it runs all the time, no thermostat. We just use ours while driving now as we have a Norcold in the TD.

Mike, we have one of the small Sunarctic 12v coolers that we sometimes 'plug' into a 12v outlet in the truck (less often in the TD). It works pretty well for keeping cold stuff cold, or hot/warm stuff warm (just reverse the plug in the cooler) but it uses quite a lot of energy & in my experience it will only keep stuff cool to about 20-30 degrees below ambient air temp, on a really hot day it don't keep beer/soda icy cold. We've only used it one time for hot stuff & it kept a pot of pinto beans warm (serving temp) for several hours. I've also used a small 12v power supply when we'v had 120vac hook-ups. We've had it for quite a number of years (dunno just how long  , at least 15yrs or more). Think it cost around $30/35 when we bought it sometime in the 90s. It's worth having but we don't use it a lot 'cause we usually have either an ice chest or the fridge in the camper. Pretty sure it uses Thermoelectric cooling/heating technology.

Mike,

I have one in good working order that we don't use.
Have the optional AC adaptor too.
They are yours for the taking if you want them.

We met at Walk The Winds 2016, and had a great time.

That's me.
The cooler is yours Mike.
I get over to Idaho Falls, ID for work fairly often.
That's fairly close to your neck of the woods.
Maybe we could meet up there next time I head that way.
PM me with your contact info. so we can sync up a schedule.

The cooler also works as a warmer by the way.

Mike,
I'll be coming through Wyoming on Wednesday next week.
We could meet up near Riverton.
I need your phone exchange number.
Can you please PM me with it?
