water tank support?

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

water tank support?

Postby nikwax » Thu Feb 14, 2008 10:42 pm

I've just taken delivery of a 15 gallon ABS water tank, which I intend to mount beneath the front of my trailer. I reckon some sort of metal straping would work. At the hardware store today, the best I could find is 22 gauge pipe hanging strap. I'm concerned that this wouldn't have the strength to hold 120 lbs of water securely, however, so I'm looking for other ideas.

Any thoughts or experiences?

4 each 5/16ths threaded rods through the floor with 2 pieces of 1" angle iron under a support piece of exterior plywood under the bottom of the tank.

I used a salvaged bed frame for iron, welded, you could bolt it also, together.

Bolted it to the frame..

Hardware is stainless.

Salvaged Bed Frame is to Teardrop builders what Duct Tape is to Red Green.
